Opportunity
Member of the AFO Supply Chain operation organization, this position will be responsible for designing and facilitating the predictable, flexible, and efficient flow of parts and materials through the entire process as well as analyzing the overall Supply Chain operations, conveyance, and intra-logistics strategy to maximize the process efficiency and productivity, development, and sustainment of a plan for every part (PFEP) in Arkansas Faucets Operations (AFO) in Kohler Co. Activities will include strategic and day-to-day support to the Supply Chain operations and Continuous Improvement team. This position will:
TARGETS
+ Design, develop, improve, and implement a world-class Material flow and inventory management system, including intra-logistics and conveyance processes, layouts, and systems readiness that seamlessly integrates with the Lean Manufacturing process.
+ Design, implement, and maintain the facility's material flow and conveyance processes by troubleshooting and preventing material shortages or bottlenecks by determining causes and designing, testing, validating, and implementing solutions and systems through a Continuous Improvement and Lean approach for AFO.
+ Develop and maintain PFEP for all components and purchased parts for the AFO plant.
+ Ensure that all data held within the PFEP is current and accurate for all areas of the AFO plant.
+ Prepare and present analysis on current conditions vs PFEP, highlighting processes out of scope.
+ Support day-to-day supply chain operations and quality throughout the process by using the BOMs, demand requirements, and engineering specifications to facilitate the correct time, quantity, quality, and delivery of parts needed at each workstation and during each assembly stage.
+ Prepare and present analyses of scenarios that reduce Supply Chain costs by eliminating waste.
+ Analyze and track the Supply Chain operational Cost and prepare proposals to improve it through CI.
+ Ensure the deployment of best practices from other Kohler plants regarding material flow, warehouse, kanban, supermarkets, conveyance, and line feeding activities, as well as share the ones from AFO plant.
+ Work with the plant teams to define the best Material flow and Layouts considering industrial engineering, manufacturing, and quality, ensuring assembly line feeding on time.Design supermarkets, Kanbans, smart buffers, and other advanced material storage or replenishment solutions for the Lean material storage, put away, picking, and kitting process
+ Ensure that parts delivered by suppliers meet design specifications and quality before entering the assembly process and implementing procedures or addressing non-conforming materials/parts.
+ Design supermarkets, Kanban, smart buffers, and other advanced material storage or replenishment solutions for the Lean material storage, putaway, picking, and kitting process.
+ Improve end-to-end material flow by applying lean principles and business excellence tools.
+ Support and drive continuous improvement and lean supply chain initiatives.
+ Identify & improve cost/waste reduction opportunities through CI and Lean approach.
+ Developing the ideal state for 5S principles and visual management to improve material staging, and delivery practices. This includes adjusting or improving storage and inventory facilities, equipment, and processes.
+ Provide PFEP data support to Engineering Change Management, Procurement, and NPI teams.
+ Coordinate material flow through strategy, resource optimization, profitability maximization, and KPIs to maximize internal and external customer satisfaction.
+ Ensure the Supermarket/kitting process is set to run smoothly, avoiding downtime due to lack of materials.
+ Conduct root cause analysis for downtime due to lack of material and lead cross-functional teams to develop sustainable solutions to correct it.
+ Establish handling practices, protocols, and team goals to achieve an efficient operation.
+ Monitor workplace performance and lead training initiatives to improve employees' performance.
+ Definition of required logistics equipment (specifications and quantities).
+ Optimize Supply Chain operations related to direct labor headcount through CI activities.
Skills/Requirements
+ Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or related field or equal knowledge in years of experience.
+ Minimum of 5 years’ hands-on Material flow specialist, Supply chain engineering, continuous improvement, and PFEP experience.
+ Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.
+ Expertise in SAP for Logistics and Materials.
+ Ability to design material routes, supermarket, min-max, and other Lean materials flow solutions.
+ Ability to conduct end-user training.
+ Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture, material flow, and distribution of goods.

_The salary range for this position is $83,300 - $105,200. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k._
