Koniag IT Systems, LLC is seeking an Information Assurance/Security Engineer to support mission-critical GEOINT operations and the Surf Eagle program. This role combines expertise in GIS technologies, software development, and cybersecurity to deliver sophisticated geospatial solutions for defense and intelligence communities. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical capabilities in developing and maintaining GIS applications while ensuring robust security measures are implemented throughout the development lifecycle. This position requires an active Secret security clearance. **This position requires an active TS/SCI clearance.**

Education and Experience:
+ Bachelor of Science degree: 5-7 years of experience in a related field.
+ Master of Science degree: 3-5 years of experience in a related field.
+ PhD: 0-2 years of experience in a related field.
Essential responsibilities, Functions, & Duties
+ The Information Assurance/Security Engineer will provide Geospatial Information System (GIS) support as required to produce Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) products and web services.
+ This will include using various methods for infusing METOC and intelligence data to produce and monitor applications, products and web services that answer specific spatial questions using multidimensional visualization, and modeling methods.
+ The Information Assurance/Security Engineer will provide software application programming support as required for Surf Eagle operational production and dissemination requirements.
+ This will include improving operational production methods that utilize geospatial technologies and scientific principles to transition new capabilities to support both internal and external Surf Eagle requirements
+ The Information Assurance/Security Engineer will monitor all automated GIS production workflows daily, troubleshoot and correct issues when found, and report the status as directed
+ The Information Assurance/Security Engineer will implement applicable software application programming standards to improve the interoperability of products and applications in accordance with the most current DoD Application STIGs.
+ The Information Assurance/Security Engineer will ensure all GIS products, applications, and web services are technically sound and adhere to relevant DoD and IC approved standards and regulations as defined in the NSG Standards Registry.
+ The Information Assurance/Security Engineer will collaborate with system administrators, database administrators and analyst experts to transition GIS products, applications, and web services to operations.
+ The Information Assurance/Security Engineer will transition unique, effective security strategies for software systems, networks, data centers, and industrial hardware.
+ The Information Assurance/Security Engineer will implement/build in security systems to software, hardware, and components.
+ The Information Assurance/Security Engineer will research best ways to secure computer networks as well as industrial networks. Build physical and logical firewalls to protect network infrastructures.
+ The Information Assurance/Security Engineer will persistently apply Quality Assurance (QA) to software and hardware to check for security vulnerabilities and risks.
+ The Information Assurance/Security Engineer will Monitor software for external intrusions, attacks, and hacks. Close off security vulnerabilities in the case of an attack, and report findings with the team.
Required Skills and Competencies:
+ GEOINT product/web services and software application programming support will typically incorporate: GIS analysis methodologies, automated workflows and mapping solutions, customized GIS toolsets, spatial visualization of derived data, and all of the standard associated Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) documentation (i.e. Project Plan, CONOPS, Functional Design Documents, Software Architecture Plans, System Requirements Specifications, Database Design Documents, Test Plans, User Acceptance Test Plans, etc.) as appropriate.
+ Applicable standard suites include but are not limited to: NSG Metadata Implementation Specifications (NMIS), World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC), International Standards Organization (ISO) 19000 series for geographic information, GIS quality standards, Intelligence Community Marking System Register and Manual Security /Classification markings and other established design policies for GIS management.
+ Work independently or as part of a team as needed.
