    The NI ADG (Aerospace, Defense, Government Business Unit) Customer Centric Solutions Team is seeking to hire an experienced Staff System Design Engineer (also referred to as Hardware Analog Engineer) to work on system engineering opportunities. The primary responsibilities of this position are to work with NI customers, sales personnel, engineering teams, alliance partners, and contract manufacturers to define, document, design, and deploy NI test systems tailored to meet specific customer requirements. The ideal candidate has experience and knowledge regarding NI products and system level design!

     

    • Core Job Responsibilities:

     

    This is a customer-facing role dealing with diverse engineering needs, including the ability to gather requirements, generate design deliverables, and interface with alliance partners, contract manufacturers and internal personnel to design, deploy and sustain custom solutions worldwide. The role will include:

     

    o Interacting with a wide variety of NI customers, NI staff, external alliance partners and suppliers in support of designing, testing and delivering NI test systems.

    o Generating design deliverables in collaboration with the project's technical lead engineer

    o Driving project plans to set milestones and holding reviews to ensure systems meet requirements and readiness for deployment

    o Supporting deployed customer systems, from technical questions to onsite support

    o Traveling as needed (possibly up to 20%) domestically and abroad in support of project objectives or collaboration with other NI teams

    • Experience and Skill Requirements:

    o Minimum Requirements:

    o B. S. Degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent

    o Minimum of 2 to 5 years relevant industry experience in a Hardware Systems Design Role or a Test Engineering Design Role

    o US Person (US Citizen or Green Card ) ONLY, ability to work on ITAR projects and qualify for DoD Clearances

    o Strong understanding of electrical engineering & system design engineering

    o Understanding of high-level programming languages (LabVIEW, VeriStand, Python)

    o Experience working on projects with internal and external customers

    o Hands-on experience with system-level V&V / Acceptance testing or troubleshooting

    • Preferred Skills:

    o Knowledge in Compliance Certifications (CE, UL, TUV, Etc.)

    o Hands on use of NI Hardware Platforms and Instruments

    o Hands on use of NI LabVIEW and VeriStand

    o Hands-on experience with system-level V&V / Acceptance testing or troubleshooting

    • Demonstrated ability to:

    o Work effectively in a diverse, multi cultural group development environment

    o Problem-solve effectively - diagnose technical issues and propose reasonable solutions

    o Support test and measurement system design and test activities

    o Take initiative, be a self-starter, and work independently

    o Persistently drive tasks to successful on-time completion

    o Quickly learn applicable technology, systems, and products

    o Strong work ethic and drive to succeed
