    Description:

    **Position Purpose:** As a Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) at Mercy Care Atlanta, you will empower individuals experiencing mental health challenges by facilitating structured peer support activities. You'll foster recovery, socialization, self-advocacy, and wellness, helping consumers live as independently as possible.

    What You Will Do:

    + Lead day-to-day operations of Peer Support Services Groups, offering activities that encourage self-directed recovery and hope.

    + Help consumers develop personal recovery goals and relapse prevention plans.

    + Assist the Behavioral Health Coordinator in maintaining a safe, structured recovery environment.

    + Guide individuals in exploring strengths, managing illness, and developing community living skills.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree required.

    + Certified as a Georgia Peer Specialist or CARES Specialist (or eligibility within 6 months).

    + Minimum one year of experience in day services programs, group facilitation, and working with underserved individuals.

    + Must be in recovery from Mental Illness or Dual Diagnosis for at least one year prior to hire.

    + Valid Georgia Driver’s License may be required.
