Position Summary:
Reporting to the Vice President, Risk Management, the Director, DOT Compliance will be responsible for implementing and maintaining PFG’s DOT and Compliance program. The Director, DOT Compliance must remain technically current with DOT and Compliance management tools, as well as legislative and regulatory requirements. S/he will manage and lead the DOT and Compliance team and associated vendors and programs that aim to mitigate risk and drive behavior across the enterprise.
Position Responsibilities;
+ Partner with Presidents, General Managers, Transportation Managers, Safety Managers, Human Resources, the Risk Management team, and various other departments to identify risk mitigation issues and ensure compliance with regulations and controls by examining and analyzing records, reports, operating practices, and documentation. Recommends opportunities to strengthen the internal control structure.
+ Provide strategic guidance to compliance team on initiatives, vendors, systems, and programs used to mitigate compliance risk.
+ Identify and communicate key metrics for field and management reporting to drive improved risk management performance and develop, maintain, and publish financial and statistical reports to measure progress. Manage processes to ensure data is gathered and entered timely, and verified for accurate reporting.
+ Collaborate with OpCo management to evaluate risk metrics and develop strategies for increased success.
+ Actively participate in budgeting, forecasting and allocation of DOT/Compliance program related expenses.
+ Evaluates and implement compliance programs to mitigate risk and increase savings to the Company.
+ Develop organizational strategies by contributing information, analysis, and recommendations to strategic thinking and direction; establishes functional objectives in line with organizational objectives.
+ Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
6-10 years DOT/Compliance/Safety experience in a large, decentralized multi-state organization.
Deep working knowledge of FMCSA regulations.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with all levels of management and field personnel.
Strong writing skills and the ability to make recommendations and follow through to completion.
Attention to detail and ability to analyze information below the surface to assess risk and compliance.
Ability to partner with and elicit cooperation from leadership and drive to action
Ability to assess program effectiveness and determine alternate course of action if needed.
