Position Summary
The Sales & Service Manager plays a critical role in the Sales Department by overseeing the performance and development of sales representatives and account managers. This role involves strategic leadership, managing client relationships, driving sales growth and ensuring exceptional service delivery. This is done by serving as a liaison between the Company, the clients and representing brokers to understand each group’s unique needs to promote retention, growth and profitability are achieved.
Essential Position Functions
+ Lead, manage, and mentor a team of sales representatives and account managers to achieve company sales goals.
+ Develop and implement sales strategies that drive growth and expand the customer base.
+ Oversee service delivery to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
+ Establish performance metrics, monitor progress, and report to senior management.
+ Analyze market trends and adjust strategies to meet changing conditions.
+ Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships, acting as the point of contact for escalated issues with key clients.
+ Manage and provide direct leadership to the Sales and Account Management team providing consistent strategies and approaches by collaborating with the Sales leadership.
+ Proficient and comfortable with public speaking with the goal of maintaining/promoting Company brand.
+ Participate in internal department meetings representing Account Management and our customers to help build/maintain the WDG reputation. Communicate updates to the Sales team as appropriate.
+ Provide leadership, training, mentoring and resources necessary to carry out the assigned work of the Account Managers including increasing membership growth.
+ Coach and motivate staff to provide exceptional service to all clients (internal and external) ensuring that performance goals, expectations and standards are understood and met.
+ Collaborate and work closely with Marketing to create new or updated materials that meet client needs and foster retention and growth.
+ Lead client service communication initiative/strategies.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or other related field, with a minimum of seven years experience in health insurance sales and at least five years of experience managing a team within the health insurance industry required. Must have a valid driver’s license for operation of a motor vehicle in Oregon, Washington and/or Idaho and possess an acceptable driving record. Experience in healthcare or insurance field required.
Licenses, Certificates and Registrations
Must be licensed or willing to become licensed immediately following employment.
Expected annual salary range for this position depending on experience:
$97,000—$147,000 USD
Compensation
The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to education, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity.
This position is also eligible for incentive pay in accordance with the terms of the Company’s plan.

Paid Time Off (PTO): Eligible employees will accrue a minimum of 120 PTO hours per employment year in addition to seven paid holidays annually. The Company’s PTO program combines vacation and sick leave, which is more generous than Washington State’s Sick Leave Law.
Physical Requirements
The work is primarily performed while sitting and/or standing, but will require occasional walking, bending, stooping and carrying light items such as papers, books, or other supplies. The incumbent uses a computer and other standard office equipment to complete tasks.
