    WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

    The Global Brand Design, Art Director, Kids leads a team of multidisciplinary creatives across multiple projects, working closely with senior leadership, creative directors, narrative leads, studio managers and producers to deliver well-crafted and innovative creative.

     

    We are looking for someone to help transform and take Nike Kids to the next level. This is a unique opportunity to make a stamp on creating an iconic space for Nike that lives at the intersection of Sport X Kids. Influencing the next generation of bad ass athletes to choose sport and defining how we show up in kid culture. You will be a part of a small but mighty team helping to carve out a space for Nike to be a leader in Kids sportswear.

     

    Must be a driver of design excellence and collaboration across a variety of projects simultaneously, ensuring that the team delivers comprehensive creative, authentic to product innovation, athlete stories and sport moments. They are responsible for presenting work to senior leadership while also coaching designers and building opportunities for individual development, performance management, recognition and rewards. Encouraging and leading innovative thinking, collaboration, and teamwork. They are passionate and connected to the creative industry - and this network and interest both inspire and drive their creative thinking!

    WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

    + Work with senior creative leadership to develop Nike Kids visual direction.

    + Drive the Nike Kids art direction with design teams, providing inspiration, mentorship, support and direction.

    + Encourage excellence, ambition, and team spirit.

    + Deliver outstanding photography, video content, image making, experiences and digital design in service of Nike Kids.

    + Develop and maintain relationships with photographers, filmmakers, illustrators, image makers, typographers, designers and writers.

    + Work strategically with other leads in the business to ensure the strongest approach to external talent.

    + Define art direction for the world of Nike Kids video and photography, ensuring our content is always on-brand, diverse, contemporary, desirable and within agreed budgets.

    + Keep up to date with emerging trends in kid culture sports, fashion, design, film, art, media and technology as relevant to Nike and the design team.

    + Collaborate with Narrative directors, photography, styling, marketing, digital, retail, experience, product design and concepts to lead teams through creative process and projects.

    + Ensure all projects are well-planned, creatively exceptional, and delivered timely.

    + Promotes needs for training and development, coaching and mentoring.

    + Review project work for highest standards of quality, consistency and success.

    WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

    You will report directly to the Global Sr Creative Director, Kids and work closely with the Kids creative studio teammates inclusive of Narrative Director, Designer and Writers. Collaborating alongside other functions like, Brand Voice, Kids Brand Marketing, Nike Digital, Social and Retail Marketing, Merchandising, Global Styling, the Global Brand Imaging Studio, the Content Production teams and Geo/City Studios.

    WHAT YOU BRING

    + Minimum 8+ years graphic design and art direction experience in branded content, agency, editorial or marketing environment.

    + Bachelor's degree in design or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and training.

    + A passion for the Athlete*, Sport, Kids & Culture.

    + A stellar portfolio of creative work, exhibiting a seasoned background in digital and editorial design.

    + Deep knowledge and expertise in all aspects of layout, typography, illustration, identity, digital and experience production and image making.

    + Publishing across formats and platforms.

    + Detailed understanding of today’s creative landscape and how people engage with content from digital products to environments and experiences.

    + Ability to collaborate with and creatively manage external agency relationships.

    + Proven ability as a manager and mentor, with a knack and passion for helping everyone on the team—especially senior-level and entrepreneurial talent—to grow, improve, succeed, and advance toward collective and individual goals.

    + Ability to lead team efforts while also working independently to deliver on individual responsibilities.

    + Proven ability to flex and adapt to changing business needs while maintaining creative quality.

    + Laser-sharp focus with ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure.

    + Strong time management with ability to toggle between daily and long-term tasks, keeping workstreams moving forward simultaneously.

    + Excellent verbal and visual communication skills; adept at presenting and defending creative work.

    + Strong interpersonal skills with highly developed ability to foster cross-functional teamwork and an open, positive and collaborative environment.

    + Highly developed curiosity and in-depth understanding of design culture, current and past.

    + Strong understanding of day-to-day editorial operations and production.

    + Astute attention to detail and meticulous organizational skills.
