At Leggett & Platt, our Marketing Team plays a vital role in shaping product launches, competitive analysis, brand storytelling, and market strategy. Our department works collaboratively to create compelling content, refine strategy, and support the execution of high-impact marketing initiatives that drive success across various markets. As a Marketing Intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience while working alongside experienced professionals in a dynamic, innovative environment.
As a Controls & Systems Support Engineer, you will gain hands-on experience in industrial automation, controls integration, and IT systems support. This role offers the chance to troubleshoot cutting-edge machinery, develop control software, and work within a dynamic team.

Whether you’re interested in PLC programming, system communication, cybersecurity, or industrial IT infrastructure, this role provides an exceptional opportunity to build valuable skills while contributing to impactful projects.
So, what will you be doing as a Controls & Systems Support Engineering Intern?
+ Machine Development & Support – Assist in designing, programming, testing, and troubleshooting control systems for prototype and production machinery.
+ Controls & Software Systems – Help refine machine control software, including PLC programming and HMI interfaces, while learning industrial communication protocols.
+ System Communication, Data & Cybersecurity – Support the configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of system networks, ensuring data integrity and uptime.
+ Forcam MES Support – Assist with configuring, maintaining, and supporting the Forcam Manufacturing Execution System, generating reports and dashboards to provide insights into machine health and production efficiency.
+ Database & IT Support – Gain familiarity with database management and support hardware/software maintenance, including troubleshooting project-critical systems.
+ Learning and Development – Work alongside experienced engineers and IT professionals, participating in cross-functional team projects to expand your knowledge in automation, controls, and IT systems.
+ Additional duties as assigned.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
+ Bachelor’s degree (in progress or completed) in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
+ Technical curiosity and a strong desire to learn and grow.
+ Basic familiarity with computer hardware and software systems.
+ Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
+ Willingness to be hands-on and support factory-floor challenges.
Things we consider a plus:
+ Exposure to PLC programming or industrial controls.
+ Familiarity with SQL databases and application development.
+ Coursework or experience in networking protocols or databases.
+ Familiarity with AutoCAD Electrical and/or SCADA/HMI platforms
