Description We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Medical Billing/Claims/Collections Specialist in Cheektowaga, New York. This long-term contract position is ideal for someone with a strong background in billing, accounts receivable, and collections within the healthcare industry. The role involves managing billing processes, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and oversee accounts receivable processes, including tracking collections and enforcing policies with agencies and attorneys.
• Accurately enter and maintain client, employee, payroll, and billing information in relevant accounting systems.
• Handle client billing for multiple payers, including Medicaid Waiver programs and insurance providers.
• Assist with office management tasks, including procurement and inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Monitor and report changes in client conditions to relevant personnel to ensure quality care.
• Participate in quality assurance reviews to evaluate and improve agency services.
• Communicate effectively with clients regarding account balances and collections, ensuring clear and precise interactions.
• Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks and WellSky Billing to streamline processes and maintain accuracy.
• Collaborate with team members to address operational needs and contribute to the overall efficiency of the organization. Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework or two years of related experience preferred.
• Proven experience in billing and accounts receivable, specifically within home care Medicaid Waiver programs.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks, WellSky Billing, and other relevant software systems.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite and scheduling programs.
• Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with clients, team members, and external agencies.
• Demonstrated organizational, leadership, and customer service skills.
• Sympathetic attitude toward the care of the sick and elderly.
• Ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously and perform well under pressure.
