**Pay Range:** $52.15 - $87.61 per hour
Rush salaries are determined by many factors including, but not limited to, education, job-related experience and skills, as well as internal equity and industry specific market data. The pay range for each role reflects Rush’s anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position. Offers may vary depending on the circumstances of each case.
Summary:
This position will oversee grant-related operations and manage associated staff to ensure adequate oversight and coordination of projects embedded in the Rush BMO Institute for Health Equity, which includes both philanthropic, industry sponsored, and highly competitive extensive federal grants. Additional responsibilities include oversight of research and project timelines and milestones, regulatory compliance, strategic development, and monitoring of evaluation efforts. This position requires someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, flexible, comfortable in health care and community environments and has outstanding interpersonal skills. This position will collaborate closely with the Director of the Institute for Health Equity, Director of Strategic Equity Initiatives, the Institute’s subcommittee Chairs, principal and co-investigators, and staff to advance health equity initiatives at Rush. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

Require Job Qualifications:
• Master’s degree or other advanced degree in health or science field
• Minimum of ten years of experience in clinical research with at least 5 of those years in clinical research trial management or has equivalent combination of education, training and experience where the required knowledge, skills and abilities have been acquired.
• Advanced knowledge of scientific and research concepts and regulations
• Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills and be able to work with a variety of individuals in a professional and courteous manner
• Understand and maintains discretion and confidentiality related to all aspects of the studies.
• High attention to detail
• Exceptional judgment and decision-making abilities, especially in challenging situations
• At least five years of people management experience.
• Experienced in project management, change management, program development, implementation, evaluation and improvement
• Business administrative acumen, analytical and financial skills, prioritization and follow-up skills.
• Organizational awareness/savvy.
• Effectively build relationships with key clinical and administrative executives/ leaders essential to organizational objectives.
• Participate and develop collaborative relationships with national, community, medical and professional organizations.
• Ability to enable execution.
• Ability to build partnerships internal and external to Rush.
Preferred Qualifications
• Minimum of ten years of experience in clinical research with at least 5 of those years in clinical research trial management.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversees administrative and operational functions of selected grant-based projects obtained through the Rush BMO Institute for Health Equity.
2. Provides oversight in hiring, training, management and development of program managers, program coordinators, research coordinators and research administrators.
3. Launch and project manage multiple high-dollar, multi-stakeholder, and complex awards, including overseeing budgets, contracts, IRB approvals, RedCap systems, and study protocols.
4. Manage the full grant and project pipeline, from writing and fundraising to onboarding, implementation and execution, close and evaluation.
5. Review and assess project and research protocols; Determine long and short-term resource (personnel, materials, space, etc.) requirements for grant-funded projects to ensure efficient use of resources. Assist PI with budgetary forecasts for functional group operating and capital expenses.
6. Monitor the progress of select grant-funded projects on an ongoing basis relative to established timelines and key milestones. Ensure that delays are identified and communicated to PIs and functional group staff. Participate in and facilitate efforts to implement appropriate interventions across functional groups to meet timelines.
7. Identify operational problems, issues, obstacles, and barriers across all projects based on input from research staff, PIs, and sponsors; communicate patterns and trends; and participate in and support efforts to problem solve, develop and implement process/system improvements.
8. Coordinate evaluation efforts for the Rush BMO Institute for Health Equity reports and grant submissions, including data from Social Work and Community Health Services, School-Based Health Centers, Community Health Equity and Engagement, Family Connects and other relevant programs, by integrating data from Epic and community sources. Coordinates and implements innovative methods of evaluation, including Coincidence Analysis, mixed methods.
9. Serve as point of contact for Principal Investigators, research and project coordinators, philanthropy and funders to answer questions, resolve problems, advise, and prepare/negotiate agreements.
10. Monitor expenditure of funds relative to budgetary targets for all clinical research on an ongoing basis. Ensure that variances are identified and communicated to appropriate personnel. Facilitate efforts to implement appropriate interventions.
11. Develop and implement orientation programs for new research and program staff and ongoing training, continuing education, and professional development.
12. Work with PIs to identify research staff, space, and material resources required for each project and across all projects to ensure appropriate assignment/availability of staff.
13. Prepare and deliver presentations at internal and external meetings and conferences for the program and principal investigator.
14. Plan, assign and review staff work to meet group objectives.
15. Works with data management team to ensure efficient data collection procedures are in place and evaluates the impact of projects for value.
16. Maintains active Institutional Review Board approval of the study, facilitates regulatory coordinators and/ or completes regulatory documents including the development of the Subject Information Sheet.
17. Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
