    Description

    We are looking for an experienced Accounting Assistant Manager to join our client's team in Las Vegas, Nevada. In this role, you will oversee and guide a team responsible for managing capital asset accounting processes while ensuring compliance with established policies and standards. This permanent hire position offers an opportunity to contribute to financial accuracy, team development, and strategic initiatives in a dynamic hospitality environment.

    Responsibilities:

    • Supervise and provide guidance to accounting staff handling capital asset accounting processes.

    • Administer and enforce accounting policies and procedures related to capital asset transactions, including internal controls.

    • Review account reconciliations and journal entries to ensure adherence to controls, policies, and procedures.

    • Coordinate and oversee daily, weekly, monthly, and annual accounting processes to maintain accurate transaction records.

    • Prepare and review monthly deliverables such as roll-forward schedules and financial reporting support documents.

    • Manage the department’s month-end close process, ensuring deadlines are met in compliance with GAAP standards.

    • Conduct monthly analysis of financial statement accounts and provide insights to senior leadership.

    • Support the development and mentoring of staff by delivering training sessions and fostering team growth.

    • Collaborate with internal and external auditors by coordinating document production and responding to inquiries.

    • Lead and execute complex assignments and ad-hoc projects as requested by management.

    Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on capital asset management.

     

    • Proficiency in GAAP accounting principles and practices.

    • Strong knowledge of capital improvement and construction project accounting.

    • Hands-on experience with journal entries and monthly close processes.

    • Ability to perform balance sheet account reconciliations accurately and efficiently.

    • Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in team supervision and development.

    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

    • Skilled in managing ad-hoc reporting and analysis tasks.
