    Tessent DFT Product Engineering Intern

     

    Electronic Design Automation (EDA)

     

    Siemens EDA has an opportunity for a Fall 2025 Product Engineering Summer Intern to be part of an extended international Product Management team working within the Tessent product team. The internship will last for 12-14 weeks.

     

    Tessent is the leading supplier of software solutions for testing semiconductor devices. This position presents a great opportunity to get exposure to product engineering while working with leading experts and inventors in the field of design-for-test (DFT).

     

    As a DFT product engineering intern, you will work on projects related to Integrated Circuit (IC) test and learn from working on various DFT technology areas. Specific DFT technologies you’ll work on may include:

     

    + RTL design editing and insertion of DFT structures

    + Automatic test pattern generation (ATPG)

    + Embedded deterministic test (EDT)

    + Streaming Scan Network (SSN)

    + Memory BIST/Repair (MBIST/BISR)

    + Logic BIST

    + Boundary scan (IEEE 1149.1)

    + IJTAG (IEEE 1687)

    + Multi-die 2.5D/3D DFT (IEEE 1838)

    + Hierarchical SoC DFT solutions

    + Analog test

     

    In addition to building your knowledge of DFT, you’ll improve your problem solving and analytical skills and learn effective communication techniques, both written and oral. Get hands-on experience with Tessent software tools to build and validate test cases for existing reference flows as well as new DFT technologies. Learn how to run in-depth benchmarks before analyzing and presenting data in a meaningful manner to the team of engineers.

    Organization Requirements:

    + Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree, or a first year Master’s student, in Electrical, Electronics or Computer Engineering with a focus on VLSI design

    + Familiarity with TCL scripting language is preferred

    + Familiarity with DFT methods like scan test, MBIST, or Logic BIST (LBIST) is a big plus

    + Familiarity with VLSI design concepts is necessary

    + Knowledge of different memory architectures is preferred for the MBIST path

    + Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel PowerPoint)

    + Must excel in written and oral communication skills

    + Must be comfortable with presenting complex technical topics

    + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

    + Effective organizational and time management skills

    + Desire to continuously improve and learn about new areas

    + Passionate, driven, and proactive

    The hourly range for this position is $18.00 to $50.00. Siemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits to employees. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate’s work location, as well as degree type and relevant education.
