    The **Senior Director of Consumer Engagement** is a highly visible marketing leadership role that intersects brand strategy, content, and culture to shape how and where Murad shows up for consumers. This role will strategize and implement best-in-class creator, partnerships, PR, social media, and content strategy, leading a team of internal talent and agency partners to build brand buzz, engaged communities, and authentic brand advocacy, both online and IRL. The ideal candidate is an experienced strategic marketer with a combination of analytical and creative thinking, and above all, possesses a bold vision for creativity and disruption that produces breakthrough marketing ideas that bring Murad into the skincare conversation and beyond. You are a gifted storyteller who is deeply immersed in culture and content consumption. You have a keen eye for both aesthetic excellence and trending spaces, and love to test, learn, and scale with speed.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Develop the strategy for and implement the execution of brand awareness, advocacy, and product launch initiatives that drive incremental earned exposure for our key brand moments, while bringing our DNA to life through compelling storytelling across influencer marketing & partnerships, PR, events, and social media

    + Create strong community, creator, and partnership strategies that are authentic, engaging, and build a halo on overall brand mentions, entering trending conversations quickly. Build strong acquisition pipeline and retention strategy

    + Build and maintain thought leadership in the fast-paced creator landscape: educate team on best practices, stay at the forefront of trend & innovation, recommend new brand-relevant strategies with a “test & learn” mentality

    + Manage Social, Community, Influencer & PR teams in leading and building disruptive marketing in a dynamically changing space

    + Collaborate with cross-functional teams on all brand initiatives to drive acquisition & brand engagement, including go-to-market campaigns, ensuring synergy across channels

    + Oversee all PR efforts with external agency to drive consistent press coverage, brand awareness and sales to Murad.com and priority retailers while elevating overall brand positioning, cultivating meaningful relationships with beauty, wellness and related press, exploring affiliate models when possible

    + Craft engaging and innovative IRL experiences intended to drive wide-scale awareness for Murad across consumers, press and influencers, both for broader brand moments and always-on support of community building efforts

    + Work closely with Digital Marketing & Media teams to create strong UGC and creator content, including for paid amplification and sparking/boosting, with a focus on TikTok

    + Build and implement our content strategy, planning, and calendar across all platforms, with help as needed from external partners, creators, and our Creative team

    + Manage, mentor, and motivate direct reports to encourage their professional developmentwhile providing supervision and guidance, meeting business and development goals

    REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

    + 7-10 years marketing or brand marketing experience, including a proven track record of social & influencer marketing campaigns, and brand activations that capture consumer attention and drive engagement

    + Strong strategic vision and creative storytelling skills balanced by a highly analytical, hands-on, and detail-oriented approach

    + High social media proficiency with an emphasis on TikTok

    + Proven ability to develop and execute strategic marketing plans that align with business objectives and drive measurable results

    + Strong leadership and leadership skills with experience in leading and developing high-performing teams

    + Proficiency in analyzing data and metrics to inform decision-making and optimize marketing strategies

    + Experience with platform analytics tools, dashboards, and KPI reporting

    + Passion and knowledge of digital trends and best practices for brand activation– a “chronically online” bias and deep expertise in social media channels and the competitive landscape

    + A curiosity for and love of beauty, skincare, and telling compelling stories about products and brands to consumers

    + Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present ideas and strategies to stakeholders at all levels

    + Experience in high-growth brands within the CPG, beauty, and wellness space a plus

    This position is based in our El Segundo, CA headquarters, which is currently 40% hybrid onsite/remote work.

     

    The expected base salary for this position is $150,000 to $250,000. The exact base salary is determined by various factors, including experience, skills, education, geographic location, and budget.
