Position Summary :
The Associate Manager, Retail + Experience supports the retail division in both the physical location of the NYBG shop and its eCommerce business nybgshop.org.
The Associate Manager, Retail + Experience supports the Directors and VP with all aspects of the shop and eCommerce business including: opening and closing the shop, running the sales floor, shop and website merchandising, analyzing data and completing finance reports, pulling orders for fulfillment, managing customer service inquiries, and working with the team on marketing and social content.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities :
+ Assists in the oversight of sales staff ensuring staff work their assigned schedules and conduct themselves in a professional manner
+ Provide high quality customer service and maintain a welcoming, organized shop environment
+ Maintain product information and high-level plant knowledge with the ability to rel ay related information to customers and staff
+ Ring up sales accurately, be responsible for cash and credit cards tendered
+ Enforce and adhere to Shop and NYBG policies
+ Assist with special sales and retail events, occasionally off-site and/or during evening hours
+ Support eCommerce operations such as manage product listings and site updates
+ Work with warehouse team to fulfill and manage online orders and manage inventory across online and instore locations
+ Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to site metrics, analyze sales data and provide performance insights
+ Work with marketing, creative/product development and other teams throughout the Garden to ensure alignment and achieve revenue goals
+ Troubleshoot site issues and identify areas for improvement, making recommendations for enhancing the overall user experience
+ Stay current with e-commerce trends, industry competitors, and emerging technologies to make informed recommendations for improvement
Qualifications :
+ 4+ years retail experience including 2+ years eCommerce/Shopify experience
+ Attention to detail and professionalism in all interactions and correspondence
+ Responsible and dependable, able to function as a team player in a collaborative environment
+ Friendly and pleasant demeanor; customer service oriented
+ Knowledge of Shopify, Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word), Adobe Creative Suite
+ Flexibility in working holidays and evenings
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee may be required to, at minimum, work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions, assist with stock deliveries, and lift up to 30 pounds.

Baseline Work Schedule:
Tuesday-Saturday, 9am-5pm and/or 11am-7pm; occasional evenings/holidays required based on NYBG’s evening/events schedule.
Salary for this position is commensurate with experience within the range of $50,000-$55,000.
