    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    + Previous experience or training/education working in a veterinary facility preferred but not required

    + Friendly, outgoing, "people oriented"

    + Excellent communication skills

    + Telephone and computer skills are necessary

    + Must be a team player willing to learn new techniques and treatments and to accept challenge

    Primary Job Responsibilities:

    + Maintaining medical records

    + Obtain and record patient histories

    + Go through previous records and enter proper vaccine/treatment history

    + Collect specimens and set up for assessment and/or laboratory pick up

    + Safely moving contagious/stressed/aggressive pets in and out of the examination rooms

    + Preparing euthanasia paperwork with clients

    + Safely obtaining weight and temperature readings for each patient

    + Clean and maintain all areas in the rooms department throughout the day

    + Stock inventory and keep shelves organized

    + Clear communication with doctors, staff members and clients

    Physical Requirements:

    + Dependable attendance is required

    + Allergies to animals must be controlled through medication

    + Must be able to lift 40 pounds

    + This position requires the ability to walk, bend, stand and reach consistently during 8-hour day

    + Fine motor skills adequate for utilizing hospital equipment such as electric clippers, syringes, radiology equipment, laboratory equipment, and computers

     

    The pay range for this position is $18 - $23 / hour based on experience.
