Job Title: Frame Mechanic

Job Description

As a Frame Mechanic, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including frame straightening, alignments, suspension and brake repairs, and trailer straightening. You will also install, fabricate, and repair truck accessories such as tippers, flatbeds, hook lifts, and plows. Working independently and collaboratively within the paint department, you will perform welding, body work, panel replacements, prepping for paint, and other duties as assigned. Your role will involve electrical wiring, welding, grinding, and working with hand and power tools to fabricate products, as well as tasks related to hydraulics and mechanic work.

Responsibilities

+ Perform frame straightening, alignments, suspension repair, and brake repair.

+ Conduct trailer straightening and repair truck accessories, including tippers, flatbeds, hook lifts, and plows.

+ Work independently and collaboratively in the paint department, performing welding, body work, panel replacements, and prepping for paint.

+ Execute electrical wiring, welding, and grinding tasks.

+ Utilize hand and power tools for product fabrication.

+ Work with hydraulics and perform mechanic work.

+ Other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

+ Minimum of 1 year experience in mechanic or installation work on industrial trucks.

+ Experienced welder with at least 1 year of experience.

+ Proficiency in electrical hookups on truck equipment.

+ Hydraulic experience required.

+ Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.

+ Forklift experience required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Requires own small hand tools.

+ Must possess own tools and toolbox for shop use.

Work Environment

You will work in a large job shop with multiple buildings and garages, each mechanic having their own bay. The environment can be loud at times and warm during the summer, but overhead doors are opened for air flow to ensure comfort.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of LAKE CRYSTAL, Minnesota.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.
