    Duties and Responsibilities

    The Director of the Collaboration, Access, Resources, and Equity ( CARE ) Pathway within the Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing ( MNSON ) is responsible for leading all aspects of the CARE Pathway to the BSN program. This includes student recruitment, enrollment, orientation, and retention; program events and activities; and internal scholarships and awards. The Director also provides administrative oversight, supervises the ABSN CARE Pathway Coordinator and student workers, and collaborates closely with MNSON faculty and staff to support the academic success and well-being of CARE Pathway students. The Director reports directly to the CARE Pathway Faculty Director.

     

    This position is based out of the Lakeshore Campus ( LSC ), but requires regular travel to the Health Science Campus ( HSC ).

    CARE PATHWAY STUDENT AFFAIRS

    + Lead student recruitment, enrollment, and orientation efforts for the CARE Pathway.

    + Maintain regular communication with Arrupe College personnel—includingadmissions, advising, social work, and financial aid—to ensure continuity of services and a smooth transition for students entering MNSON .

    + Provide ongoing individual and group support sessions to promote student success, retention, and well-being.

    + Collaborate with CARE Pathway team members to identify students in need of academic support or other interventions.

    + Design and implement programming to support students’ transition to college and the development of effective academic skills and behaviors.

    + Manage CARE Pathway seminars and coordinate peer, faculty, and alumni mentoring initiatives.

    + Oversee the administration of CARE Pathway internal scholarships in collaboration with Financial Aid.

    + Supervise the operations of the CARE Lounge.

    + Develop and manage surveys and outcome tracking to assess CARE Pathway program impact and guide improvement.

    STAFF SUPERVISION & OFFICE SUPPORT

    + Hire, supervise, mentor, train, and evaluate CARE Pathway Peer Leaders.

    + Supervise and support the professional development of the ABSN CARE Pathway Coordinator.

    EVENTS , ACTIVITIES , AND TRAVEL

    + Plan and implement CARE Pathway events, including semester kickoffs, holiday celebrations, summer send-offs, graduation dinners, Arrupe student visits, and Peer Leader-led activities.

    + Coordinate travel arrangements for students, faculty, and staff attending CARE Pathway-related conferences and events.

     

    Performs other duties, as assigned.

     

    Position requires ability to travel between campuses as well as occasional early morning, weekend and evening responsibilities

    Minimum Education and/or Work Experience

     

    Master’s degree in college student personnel, counseling, or related field required, and two to three years of related experience.

    Qualifications

    + Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Higher Education, Student Personnel, Student Development, Student Affairs, or a related field, preferred.

    + Three or more years of work experience in higher education setting involving student affairs, student activities, student development, student event planning, or a related area

    + Knowledge, understanding, and commitment to the mission and values of Loyola University Chicago and the Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing

    + Demonstrated success with planning, coordinating, and implementing large and small scale, detail-orientated projects and events

    + Must be self-directed, innovative, and able to assess current operations in an effort to develop practical action programs to improve the functioning of department operations

    + Demonstrates strength and experience in team-building and collaboration and is able to work well with individuals at all levels

    + Must be able to work well within a culturally diverse environment with the ability to handle all situations with tact and diplomacy

    + Must possess strong organization skills and effective verbal and written communication skills
