Job Title: Dual Diagnosis Clinician (Entry - Intermediate Level)

Job Summary:
The Dual Diagnosis Clinician is responsible for providing services to residential patients who are dually diagnosed. This position will coordinate with the IFM management team and the on-staff psychiatrist to determine treatment planning and care coordination for dually diagnosed patients as well as assistance in providing resources to clients transitioning into the community. This position will also be charged with acting as a liaison with local hospitals when patients are placed on a mental health hold and will provide case coordination services to patients who have human service involvement.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Identify dually diagnosed patients within the milieu and coordinate with other staff to provide effective treatment interventions.
+ Provide individual and group treatment with dually diagnosed patients as indicated.
+ Participate in milieu activities with all patients including interventions to help one assess patients' participation in treatment and interactions with peers.
+ Determine when a patient needs to be referred for psychiatric evaluation and coordinate appointment schedule for the on-staff psychiatrist.
+ Assure milieu staff has medication updates and changes in medication orders from the staff psychiatrist.
+ Coordinate psychiatric medication ordering and assure patients are following through with obtaining their medications, and review treatment efficacy and patient symptoms.
+ Provide mental health evaluation and assessment as needed on patients and provide clinical consultation to staff to develop appropriate treatment plans.
+ Attend staff meeting at Inspiration for Men weekly.
+ Attend bi-monthly Mental Health Coordination meetings.
+ Assist transitional phase patients in obtaining outside mental health care.
+ Thoroughly document all interactions with patients, adhering to Medicaid documentation standards as well as BHA and ARTS regulations.
+ Assist staff in DHS reporting.
+ Train and provide consultation to staff related to mental health needs of patients.
+ As indicated, and in conjunction with the director, assist in developing programming for dually diagnosed patients.
+ Conduct suicide risk assessments.
+ Must be on call to assist in mental health emergencies; referring to or paging the psychiatrist as needed.
+ Track mental health diagnoses to determine incidence of trauma, Axis II, and Axis I diagnosis.
Work Location:
Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located on the Fort Logan grounds in Denver, CO.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
_Entry Level:_
+ Master's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field appropriate to the assignment from an accredited institution and be working toward licensure.
+ Possess a valid registration in good standing with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (LPC-C), Social Worker Candidate (SW-C), Marriage and Family Therapist Candidate (MFT-C).
_Intermediate Level:_
+ Master's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field appropriate to the assignment from an accredited institution and be working toward licensure.
+ One (1) year of professional work experience in a behavioral health field.
+ Possess a valid registration in good standing with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (LPC-C), Social Worker Candidate (SW-C), Marriage and Family Therapist Candidate (MFT-C).
_Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire._
Preferred Qualifications:
+ A valid Professional Counseling License (LPC), Clinical Social Worker license (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Counseling License (LMFT) from the State of Colorado.Certified Addiction Specialist Certificate (CAS), Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC).
+ Additional professional or internship experience in a behavioral health field.
Conditions of Employment:
+ Continued registration in good standing with the Department of Regulatory Agencies to practice in Colorado (DORA) as an LPC-C, SW-C, MFT-C, or LPC, LCSW, or LMFT by date of hire.
+ Must agree to fingerprinting and a criminal background check. Required background checks include a review with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI)
+ Subject to pre-employment, post-accident or incident or reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing per AMC Addiction Research and Treatment Services Department Policies.
+ Individuals in recovery from substance abuse must have one (1) year of abstinence from alcohol and drug problems.
+ Must possess and maintain a valid State of Colorado Driver's License or be able to obtain a valid State of Colorado driver's license within 30 days of hire.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
+ Well-developed knowledge and skills in determining dually diagnosed patients within the treatment milieu and coordinates with other staff to provide effective treatment interventions.
+ Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
+ Ability to apply critical thinking and conflict resolution skills using creative approaches.
+ Knowledge and experience running evidence-based treatment groups with dually diagnosed patients as indicated.
+ Knowledge and experience conducting individual therapy with dually diagnosed patients.
+ Well-developed knowledge and skill in utilization and diagnosis using DSM V, Axis II, and Axis I diagnosis, including incidence(s) of trauma.
+ Strong organizational and time management skills.
+ Ability to work with diverse patient population, providers, and staff.
+ Ability to comply with established rules, policies and procedures and meet deadlines.
+ Ability to be nonjudgmental and respectful of other's beliefs, values, and culture.
+ Ability to effectively and efficiently manages a diverse workload in a fast-paced, rapidly changing regulatory environment.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and ability to learn software programs.

The starting salary range ( _or hiring range_ ) for this position has been established as:
**_Entry Level:_** $56,555 - $71,939
