    Job Summary:

    This position is responsible for the timely and cost-effective acquisition of assigned goods and/or services, in accordance with company policies, and best practices. This role will manage the electrical commodity (wire harnesses, gauges, stereos, etc) from concept through end of life. Interfacing with engineering on development, evolution, and sunsetting product will be a key responsibility of his position. On a day-to-day basis, this role will be placing PO’s, quoting new materials, and working on new product development projects.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    + Obtain bids, negotiate contracts and select appropriate vendors for supplies and services

    + Present sourcing recommendations as required

    + Implement and coordinate cost reduction strategies for all purchases

    + Obtain quotes from suppliers for changes to existing processes or for new processes

    + Work in conjunction with cross functional teams (i.e. Engineering, Materials, Quality, Finance, etc.)

    + Manage a wide range of vendors across multiple product lines

    + Issue purchase orders, and track and expedite as necessary to ensure timely delivery

    + Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in a fast-paced environment

    + Maintain a detail-oriented workspace and possess multi-tasking abilities

    Requirements

    ? Bachelor’s degree desired; certification in inventory management or purchasing a plus

    ? Three to five years procurement experience

    ? Experience and familiarity with inventory control, receiving, and shipping processes

    ? Experience in developing and managing suppliers

    ? Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

    ? Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem solving skills

    ? Additional requirements include: familiarity with personal computing software (i.e. MS

     

    Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint), contract negotiations and strong analytical and problem

    solving skills

    ? Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively

     

    interact with all levels of the organization

    Other Skills/Abilities

    ? Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical analysis

    ? Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical

     

    situations
