    GENERAL FUNCTION:

    Perform Institutional Investment Operations functions including daily custodial transaction and positions reconciliations under supervision of the Head of Operations. Work on special projects as assigned to assist with changes to money management systems, investment procedures, regulatory changes, and as new asset management products are introduced.

     

    Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Portfolio Accounting and Investment Operation functions:

    + Execute scripts to download/process corporation action data into portfolio accounting system under direction of supervisor.

    + Execute daily scripts to download pricing into portfolio accounting system under direction of supervisor.

    + Perform period end processes for preparation of investment performance calculations under direction of supervisor.

    + Perform daily position reconciliation utilizing automated matching software.

    + Identify trade and position breaks between custodial and portfolio accounting system.

    + Assist in establishment of new accounts on portfolio accounting system under direction of supervisor.

    Trading Operations functions:

    + Perform daily upload of accounting positions into trade order management software.

    + Identify trades that do not match broker confirmations under direction of supervisor.

    + Transmit trade details to external fund accountants/brokers under direction of supervisor.

    + Provide delivery instructions as needed to external custodians to assist in trade settlement.

    + Assist in the creation of documents for Investment Committee under direction of supervisor.

    MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

    + Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience required. Focus on Finance or Accounting preferred.

    + 1 year of asset management, investment operations, or related experience preferred.

    + Basic understanding of fixed income and equity securities.

    + Basic understanding of trade-related operation areas.

    + Basic understanding of performance measurement calculations.

    + Basic understanding of PC related applications, and working knowledge of mainframe system interface.

    + Basic knowledge of Bank and Brokerage Custodial systems and interfaces with money management systems preferred.

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

    + Normal office environment with little exposure to dust, noise, temperature and the like.

    + Extended viewing of CRT screen.
