Position Summary

The Senior Buyer is responsible for sourcing and procuring goods & services for The Guthrie Clinic. Senior Buyers work closely with vendors to negotiate pricing and ensure timely delivery of goods, while analyzing market trends to develop strategies to optimize the procurement processes. This role assists the Purchasing Manager in all related procurement functions.

Education, License, & Cert.

Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of formal education, on-the-job training, and/or relevant work experience.

Experience

•Minimum of five years of Purchasing experience is required, preferably in a healthcare setting.

•Proven ability to provide tools, guidance, and opportunities for staff to reach their full potential.

•Experience in vendor management and supplier relationship management.

•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Essential Functions

Develop and implement robust strategies for procuring goods and services in alignment with organizational goals and objectives.

Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures throughout the procurement process.

Analyze market trends, pricing dynamics, and product quality to make informed decisions that maximize value for the organization.

Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements within the procurement lifecycle, implementing changes to enhance overall efficiency.

Provide training, guidance, and support to members of the purchasing team, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented work environment.

Partner with Contract Managers to establish quality standards for products and services, ensuring that all purchases meet or exceed regulatory and quality requirements.

Serves as a liaison between Buyers and Contract Managers, fostering collaboration to ensure accurate contracted pricing from the relevant suppliers.

Provide assistance to the Purchasing Manager by participating in and contributing to daily operational tasks and responsibilities.

Collaborate closely with Buyers, Accounts Payable, Contract Managers, and Suppliers to pinpoint and rectify price exceptions.
