The health services that became theAnthony L Jordan Health Corporation (http://www.jordanhealth.org/) (Jordan Health) began more than 100 years ago, in 1904. As one of the first 5 Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) established in the nation, its roots are steeped in service to those who face barriers to health and health care, meeting their need for comprehensive medical, dentistry, behavioral health, and community services. Starting in northeast Rochester, NY, Jordan Health has since expanded to become a network of primary care offices and health centers serving residents living in three quadrants ofRochester, NY (http://www.city-data.com/city/Rochester-New-York.html) and in Canandaigua, N.Y.

Jordan Health is now seeking aDental Directorwho, under the guidance of the Associate Chief Medical Officer, is primarily responsible for ensuring sustainability of exceptional dental services integrated within Jordan Health’s primary care centers.

Requirements

TheDental Directorwill ensure that:

• Access for patients and financial success of the dentistry program is achieved.

• Clinical outcomes are improved through evidence-based strategies and innovative care approaches.

• Organizational systems and processes support Jordan Health’s strategic direction and operational expectations are achieved.

• He/She/Them/Thiers is regarded as an example of leadership excellence, and inspiring commitment in others.

Education Required:

• DDS or DMD from an accredited dental institution

• Completion of a dental residency

• 3-5 years of clinical experience to include demonstrated supervisory responsibilities.

Licenses and Certifications:

• Unrestricted license to practice dentistry in NYS

• DEA registration

• Valid CPR (BLS) through the American Heart Association required.

• NYS Infection Control certificate required.

Special Skills, Knowledge Required:

• Knowledge of the principles and practice of modern dentistry as related to public health organizations and community health programs

• Knowledge of dental billing and coding practices

• Ability to inform, mentor, supervise and problem-solve with dentist, hygienist and other staff

• Understand the role of dentistry in the provision of primary care

• Excellent command of sterilization principles
