Atlantic Health System is seeking a Per Diem Endoscopy Technician II at Chilton Medical Center. Required hours are: 7:00am-3:00pm including on-call and weekends (as needed in department).

Essential Functions:

The Endoscopy Technician must have exceptional communication, organizational and customer service skills. The ideal candidate will have hospital or related experience and assist the Endoscopy clinical care team with quality care for elective/emergent procedural patients. The Endoscopy technician will efficiently assist the Endoscopy clinical care team in a fast-paced setting, while placing a high priority on safety, customer service and infection prevention. The Endoscopy technician shall be proficient on all AMMI, SGNA guidelines for high level disinfection cleaning of endoscopes.

Job Responsibilities:

Answering phones

Greeting patients

Assisting nursing when entering the procedure room

Apply oxygen tubing, bite block, monitor pads to patient.

Ensuring patient has appropriate padding for cleanliness.

Assisting physicians during Procedures

Processing scopes

Room turnover

Assist in pre-op and phase II when necessary.

Maintenance of all areas pertaining to scopes

Spotless documentation

Qualifications/Requirements:

+ High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.

+ To provide a safe environment to our patients, we require that all candidates must be able to read, write and speak English.

+ Experience in endoscopy processing of scopes and clinical experience is required for a PD position

+ AHA- BLS Certification.

Relevant Experience:

+ Basic Knowledge of Medical Terminology.

+ Prior experience working in a hospital or healthcare facility preferred.

+ 3-5 years of Endoscopy or central sterile tech experience preferred.
