    Job Summary:

    Micron is seeking a highly motivated Equipment Maintenance Technician to monitor, sustain, and improve equipment in their assigned area. This position requires collaboration with Shift Operations team members, area equipment engineers, and tool vendors to ensure efficient tool performance and maintenance in a dynamic, brand-new technology and manufacturing environment. Equipment Maintenance Technicians support fabrication processing at the forefront of innovation for the world’s leading memory and storage solution provider, Micron Technology.     Responsibilities:

    + Perform routine preventative maintenance on manufacturing processing equipment.

    + Follow up on safety and quality-related issues immediately and work towards resolution with partners.

    + Assist in documentation of hardware/process deviations and help prevent recurrence of issues hindering normal tool operation.

    + Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the cleanroom area by adhering to housekeeping protocols, ensuring that every item is properly stored and organized. Additionally, participate in teams focused on enhancing equipment availability and implementing improvement initiatives.

    + Attend Micron and/or vendor training to improve understanding of various semiconductor tools.

    + Stand for up to 10 hours per shift and walk intermittently (1-5 miles per shift) to fulfill job requirements.

    + Utilize strong problem-solving skills in identifying and resolving chronic equipment issues.

    + Identify performance gaps and implement strategic improvements.

    + Perform light assembly tasks using hand-held tools weighing less than 3 lbs.

    + Safely handle various gases and chemicals used in production processes and maintenance.

    + Navigate safely over uneven terrain or within confined spaces to perform job duties effectively.

    + Perform tasks while bending, crouching, or kneeling to complete job duties effectively.

    + Must be capable of climbing ladders and working with arms raised above head level.

    + Possess the ability to see and respond promptly and effectively to potentially dangerous situations.

    Minimum Requirements:

    + Associate degree in relevant technical fields such as Mechatronics, Electronics, or Robotics and/or 2 years of experience in maintaining manufacturing equipment, automation, and/or technical military experience.

    + Ability to work 12-hour shifts (3 days on/4 days off and 4 days on/3 days off), progress between day and night shifts every 4 months, and adapt to different shifts and overtime as needed to support business operations.

    + Must be able to regularly lift 25-40 pounds, which accounts for about 10% of the job responsibilities.

    + 2 years of proven track record to perform preventative maintenance and repair on manufacturing equipment, ensuring minimal downtime, and maintaining industrial equipment, automation.

    + 2 years of consistent track record of adhering to safety policies and completing required safety training.

    + 2 years of experience in using mechanical, electronic, and PC/software skills to fix and resolve manufacturing equipment issues.

    + 2 years of ability to collaborate with team members and communicate to address manufacturing equipment performance and safety concerns.

    + Must be able to wear personal protective gear, including respirator breathing apparatus and clean room garments, to protect products from human contamination.

    Preferred Requirements:

    + Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechatronics, Electronics, or Robotics

    + 4+ years of experience in maintaining manufacturing equipment, automation, and/or technical military experience.

    + 4+ years of experience in leading projects related to manufacturing equipment maintenance and improvement, with a focus on meeting scope, schedule, and budget requirements.
