The following position is to join our RTX Corporate team:
Overview:
We are seeking a strategic and results-oriented **Travel Commodity Leader** to lead global travel sourcing and supplier management initiatives. This role is responsible for RFP execution, contract negotiation, supplier performance management, and conflict resolution across air travel, hotel accommodations, car rentals, and travel management companies (TMCs). The ideal candidate will bring strong commercial acumen, industry knowledge, and the technical ability to drive data-informed decision-making and process improvements.
What You Will Do:
+ Lead end-to-end sourcing activities, including developing and executing RFPs for global travel services (airlines, hotels, car rentals, and TMCs).
+ Negotiate, draft, and manage contracts to ensure cost-effectiveness, compliance, and risk mitigation.
+ Monitor supplier performance using KPIs, SLAs, and benchmarking tools to drive continuous improvement and value delivery.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional partners in HR, Finance, Legal, and Operations to align travel policies with broader procurement strategies.
+ Manage and resolve billing disputes, contract issues, and service concerns.
+ Leverage digital tools to streamline processes, analyze spend and performance data, and deliver actionable insights.
+ Stay current on travel industry trends, supplier innovations, and emerging technologies to inform strategy and improve efficiency.
+ Promote sustainability by partnering with travel suppliers offering environmentally responsible solutions.
+ Eligible candidates must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time.
Qualifications You Must Have:
+ A Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related field and minimum 12 years of relevant experience in travel procurement or category management or an Advanced Degree and minimum 10 years relevant experience in travel procurement or category management
Qualifications We Prefer
+ Demonstrated success leading RFPs and negotiating large-scale travel contracts, preferably in a multinational environment.
+ Demonstrated ability to lead a team in a matrixed organization, influencing with and without direct authority.
+ Strong analytical skills with the ability to extract insights from complex datasets.
+ Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution abilities.
Work Location:
This is a remote role.
The salary range for this role is 147,000 USD - 295,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
