    Description:

    We are looking for a Certified Sterile Processing Technician to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the cleaning, disinfection, assembly, and sterilization of medical instruments and supplies. This position collaborates closely with various departments to ensure the highest quality of care and safe surgical outcomes for our patients.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Actively demonstrate the organization’s mission and core values.

    + Adhere to all laws and regulations pertaining to patient health, safety, and medical information.

    + Process instrumentation and equipment per hospital policy and procedures.

    + Assemble instrument sets accurately for Surgery, OB, ED, and other units as needed.

    + Check instrumentation and equipment to ensure proper function and safety.

    + Record and respond to biological and chemical sterilizer test results.

    + Assemble crash carts, tubs, case carts, and procedure kits per standards.

    + Sterilize and store drape packs received from laundry services.

    + Support operating rooms during procedures with needed instrumentation.

    + Utilize computer systems (e.g., Lawson, SPM, Time Trac, Outlook, Omnicell) and act as a Super User for at least one system.

    + Assist in developing and maintaining Par levels for supplies and equipment.

    + Cycle count, tag, rotate, and remove outdated/damaged inventory.

    + Respond promptly to incoming supply/equipment requests.

    + Operate handheld scanners for inventory and supply management.

    + Follow procedures for internal/external loaning and borrowing of supplies.

    + Use data to assess and recommend optimal Par levels to the SPD Supervisor.

    + Unload, unpack, and stock vendor supplies and update computer records.

    + Manage merchandise returns and process them in the Lawson system.

    + Properly store sterilized instruments, packs, and supplies.

    + Support decontamination by cleaning and disinfecting non-complex instruments and equipment.

    + Sort, assemble, and pack instruments and monitor shelf inventory in OR and SPD.

    + Maintain inventory of decontamination PPE, cleaning supplies, and solutions.

    + Restock sterile processing supplies as needed.

    + Perform other duties as assigned and consistent with the purpose of the job.

    Qualifications:

    + High school diploma or equivalent required.

    + Certification in Sterile Processing (CRCST or CBSPD) is required.

    + Minimum of one year experience working in a hospital Sterile Processing environment.
