Job Summary and Qualifications

SPECIFIC ELEMENTS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

+ Maintaining a clean sanitary environment,minimizinganinfectionrisk.

+ Responsible for thoroughly cleaning all areas assigned to include patient rooms, exam rooms, offices, bathrooms, ancillary areas, public areas, and other areas that may be assigned.

+ Promote and enhancethe safety of patients, families, and staff.

+ Ensures odor control; dusts furniture and other surfaces; cleans windows and window seals.

+ Empty and wash trash,linenand bio wastereceptacles;ensuring containers are cleaned and re-lined.

+ Cleanbathtubs, showers, sinks, toilets, mirrors, drinking fountains, and similar equipment.

+ Replenishall soap, hand sanitizer, lotion, paper towel and toilet tissuedispensersin all areas asassignedas necessary.

+ Polish metal/chrome; cleanbeds, including entire mattress(discharge cleaning).

+ Inspect vents, horizontal and vertical surfaces as listed on work schedulesuch as:door handles, light switches, telephones, over bed tables, etc., sweeping and mopping floors.

+ Keep equipment and supplies clean,organizedand in good condition.

+ Attend daily staff huddles.

+ Utilize scripting to ensure consistent excellent customer service.

+ Use tent cards and other best practices as directed by department leadership.

+ Providea timelyresponse to the cleaning of all patient discharge rooms and STAT requests,ER exam roomcleaning, OR/L&D/C-Section room cleaning, as well as all other requested cleaning needs.

+ Comply with HIPAA guidelines, ensuring all patient and employee information is kept confidential at all times.

+ Handle andpackageall waste, including pharmaceutical, hazardous, and regulated medical waste,in accordance withfederal, state, and local regulations.

+ Report any problems with equipment or supplies toimmediatesupervisor.

+ Report all maintenance/repair needs to supervisor.

+ Respond to all Meditech/Bed Management (BMAC) alerts and follow proper bed management system procedures for logging beds when completing discharges.

+ Mandatory 100% compliance with hand washing expectations,trainingand education requirements. (including but not limited toHealthstreamand Annual Competencies).

+ Assistco-workerwhen the needsarisesand you are available, creating a team environment.

+ Attend all department meetings and other mandatory events.

What qualifications you will need:

EDUCATION:

+ High School Diploma or equivalent; will consider work experience in lieu of education.

LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATION:

+ DOT DEQ certification isrequiredwithin90 daysof hire

+ CPI certification is preferred

EXPERIENCE:

+ Required to have 1-2yearspreviousenvironmentalservices, orhealthcare housekeeping, or nursing home housekeeping experience withgoodcommunicationskills.
