About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Credit Risk & Approval Director to provide credit support to the Commercial Real Estate (CRE) line of business. This role will be responsible for credit approval, credit management and oversight of components of the Commercial Real Estate portfolio. The successful candidate will provide leadership to a team of credit officers, portfolio managers, coverage bankers and analysts within the business unit and will assist in the successful pursuit of the business strategy while maintaining appropriate credit quality in the portfolio. This role will report to the group senior credit officer for CRE.
In this role, you will:
+ Approve (or recommend) direct and indirect credit exposures within a business segment of CRE line of business, including delegation and oversight of credit authorities to key team members.
+ Maintain appropriate credit quality and portfolio health through proper, timely and thoughtful credit risk decisions, recommendations, and approvals.
+ Monitor existing portfolio to identify and manage portfolio trends, risks and concentrations.
+ Manage and develop specialized teams of individual contributors with focus on delivering moderate to high complexity risk products
+ Provide service for cross-functional stakeholders and internal partners associated with formulating and establishing group credit and lending policies
+ Identify opportunities and strategies for developing approval procedures on prospective customers and directing guidelines on credit limits
+ Lead Credit Risk team by making strategic decisions to resolve highly complex issues to meet higher risk deliverables
+ Interpret and develop range of lending policies, procedures and standards for functions with moderate to higher complexity and risk
+ Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including more experienced managers
+ Lead team to achieve goals
+ Interact with internal and external customers
+ Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Credit Risk
+ Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy
Required Qualifications:
+ 8+ years of Credit Risk or lending experience or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
+ 4+ years of management or leadership experience
Desired Qualifications:
+ The successful candidate will possess in depth knowledge of the commercial real estate capital markets industry as well as related products and services.
+ Prior experience in Commercial Real Estate Risk specializing in CMBS, repo and REITs and / or specialty sectors (Hotels, Data centers, senior housing) in either a front line or second line capacity is strongly desired.

Pay Range
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$207,900.00 - $431,900.00
