    Rapid and Rural Logistics organization is looking for a Supply Chain Manager with a delivery record and proven project management experience to own and execute strategic, cross-functional operations and technology projects for our faster than Same Day operations. Robust understanding of fulfillment operations including under-the-roof processes, inventory flows, constrained FC assets (capacity and labor), quality, and long term roadmaps will help develop new innovations. This role will play a critical role in the future strategy for the same day program. It requires a high-level of ownership over the end-to-end process, the ability to think outside of the box, willingness to disrupt the current processes to create a new process, the ability to design sustainable solutions and influence stakeholders. This role requires scoping large ambiguous projects, managing to project timelines, and communicating to senior management on status, risks, and process/product changes. Cross-team coordination, project management and executive presentation skills are essential.

    Key job responsibilities

    * Driving innovation that improves the under-the-roof processes and continuously removes cost from our fulfillment and delivery network

    * Partnering with cross-functional teams to plan, organize, execute, and standardize complex projects to achieve R2L goals.

    * Gathering and analyzing data across fulfillment and delivery functions to establish global standards for operations and other cross functional teams

    * Analyzing and solving operational barriers with a focus on understanding root causes and driving forward opportunities

    * Developing Amazon best practices for internal operations

    * Leveraging analytics to support the future state of the business

    The Supply Chain Manager will also demonstrate:

    A day in the life

     

    The Supply Chain Manager (SCM) leads comprehensive network capacity modeling and optimization initiatives across all SSD facilities in North America, encompassing diverse volume streams including SSD, Grocery, Injection, Pharmacy, Hazmat, and Rush deliveries. Our capacity models drive both immediate operational decisions for weekly planning, high-visibility events and strategic three-year network build plans. As a key advisor on capacity-impacting initiatives, SCM collaborates with diverse stakeholders including Site Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering and Design. This role is crucial in achieving the 2025 volume targets for the business by identifying, modeling, and implementing productivity improvements that optimize mechanical capacities across the network.

     

    The SCM plays a pivotal role in orchestrating high-visibility events (HVE) planning and Peak execution - critical periods that define Amazon's operational success. By leveraging advanced mathematical modeling and deep operational expertise, the SCM design and implement strategies for the network's most demanding volume periods including Prime Day, Peak, and Prime Big Deal Days. This role requires exceptional cross-functional leadership, partnering closely with Supply Chain, Operations Excellence, Finance, and Operations teams to optimize network performance during these business-critical events. SCM’s strategic planning and execution directly impact Amazon's ability to deliver exceptional customer experience during periods of maximum demand.

     

    Drives data-driven decision making to balance competing priorities while designing scalable processes and risk management strategies that transform tactical supply chain improvements into network-wide strategic advantages. The SCM leads the strategic development and optimization of automated capacity planning systems across the Supply Chain Delivery network. The position drives automation through close collaboration with business intelligence engineers and partnering with Product teams to enhance capacity planning tools. Success in this role requires both technical expertise in systems automation and strategic business acumen to align capacity planning outputs with downstream stakeholder requirements. The SCM is ultimately responsible for delivering scalable planning solutions that evolve with operational growth and new business integrations, maintaining the network's ability to meet dynamic business demands efficiently.

    Basic Qualifications

    - Bachelor's degree

     

    - 4+ years of program or project management experience

     

    - 3+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience

     

    - 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience

     

    - 4+ years of supply chain experience

     

    - Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL

     

    - Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements

    Preferred Qualifications

    - 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience

     

    - 3+ years of driving process improvements experience

     

    - Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization

     

    - Experience building processes, project management, and schedules

    Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $77,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $141,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
