    Job Summary:

    The Director of Training Delivery is crucial to managing the training and media services delivery, efficiency, resource allocation, and overall performance. This individual will lead the training delivery team to success by guiding the delivery team efforts and assignments while establishing, implementing, and maintaining processes that allow the business unit to deliver high quality products and services that exceed our clients’ expectations .

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    + Set and manage clear and transparent expectations for each role in the delivery team.

    + Establish, maintain, and delegate key accounts for the business unit.

    + Constant review of processes that lead to continuous improvements of delivery, communication, efficiency, and profitability.

    + Identify areas of improvement and implement or modify current processes to eliminate potential disadvantages.

    + Manage proposals and contracts within the purview of training operations (IE: ILT, Consulting, Audits & reviews, excluding custom design and media) that feature profitable pricing, description of services, and appropriate project teams.

    + Communicate with the sales team to provide availability projections and time to target.

    + Guide and challenge the entire delivery team to exceed expectations in all aspects of their individual role.

    + Lead and attend meetings and/or events to support the Training and Media Services team.

    + Collaborate directly with the Chief Sales & Growth Officer (CSGO) to align training service offerings with strategic sales goals, marketing campaigns, and business development initiatives that promote cross-functional selling and growth opportunities.

    + Oversee the evaluation of client satisfaction through surveys, feedback loops, and key account reviews in partnership with the CSGO to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality training that exceeds client expectations.

    + Implement a trainer evaluation and feedback program that includes regular performance reviews, audits of instructional delivery, and identification of professional development needs. Share findings and opportunities with the VP of Training Media Services and CSGO when they impact client experience or present upsell potential.

    + Work with the VP of Training Media Services and CSGO to identify and support opportunities for trainers to contribute to pre-sales efforts, client demonstrations, and subject-matter insight during proposal development.

    + Serve as a strategic partner to the sales team on major accounts, helping to scope delivery timelines, ensure trainer alignment, and flag service delivery trends that may open new opportunities or require corrective action.

    + Coordinate with the CSGO and marketing team to provide case studies, success stories, and trainer-led insights that support outbound marketing efforts and brand positioning in the training and safety sectors.

    + Other duties as assigned or required to meet the business needs.

    Qualifications

    Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

    + Lead by example; Demonstrate SOP adherence by maintaining clear and concise training rosters, information, and records.

    + Lead by example ; Maintain healthy and professional relationships with members of the delivery team by being available for questions, feedback, and guidance.

    + Ability to work with multiple partners in building consensus and relationships while managing the prioritization of competing requests in a deadline-driven environment.

    + Able to satisfy internal and external customer expectations and developing customer partnerships.

    + Able to apply logical thought processes and organize resources to solve issues and meet commitments.

    + Proven experience managing and overseeing assigned projects to completion.

    + Strong presentation skills (in-person as well as virtual), verbal and written communication skills.

    + Proficiency with electronic communications including e-mail and text as well as standard office applications (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word).

    Required Education & Experience:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Business, Training, or Occupational Health & Safety, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    + 10+ years of direct freight or passenger railroad experience, or another rail adjacent agency (i.e. FRA).

    + 8+ years of demonstrated leadership.

    + Demonstrated ability to serve as a highly effective instructor for adult learners.

    + Proficient with FRA railroad rules and regulations as outlined in Title 49 Subtitle B Chapter II.

    + Proficient with Transportation, Engineering and/or Mechanical based operating and safety rules, and the practical application in the field .

    Preferred Education & Experience:

    + 10+ years of experience , or more of relevant work experience, in program design, curriculum development and learning experience design.

    + Certification and/or equivalent credentials in training or safety fields (i.e. OSHT, CIT, ASP, CSP, TSSP).

    + Active involvement with industry associations and relevant committees.

    + Proficiency with OSHA 1910 and 1926 regulations.

    + Proven ability to exercise discretion in the handling of sensitive and/or confidential materials and information.

     

    Additional Qualifications, Certifications, etc.:

     

    + Certified OSHA instructor.

    + Certified First Aid/AED instructor.

    + Any relevant Railroad Qualifications.

    + Previous experience with Six Sigma and Lean management.

    + Previous experience with project management and oversight (with or without PM credential).
