    Description

    The Human Resources Manageris responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resource practices and processes. This role plays a critical part in shaping the employee experience, ensuring compliance with labor laws, managing HR programs, and supporting the company’s strategic objectives through effective workforce management.

     

    Success in this role requires exceptional time management, strong communication skills to lead our HR operations in a high-volume manufacturing setting. This role is pivotal in fostering a positive work environment for a diverse workforce of approximately 1,100 employees.

    Requirements

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Strategic HR & Business Alignment- Collaborate with functional leaders to implement HR strategies that mirror organizational goals and business strategy

    + Talent Acquisition & Pipeline Development- Oversee full-cycle recruiting (sourcing, interviewing, hiring) to secure and retain a skilled manufacturing workforce.

    + Training & Workforce Development- Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation, and retention of employees. Assess skills gaps & training needs and coordinate learning and development initiatives.

    + Enhance Employee Engagement -Implement initiatives aimed at boosting morale and retention, creating an environment where employees are motivated and committed.

    + Employee Relations & Workplace Culture– Leading by example, guide a HR team to be a trusted, confidential resource to whom employees can safely bring forward concerns or ideas.

    + Act on Employee Feedback -Regularly solicit and thoughtfully act upon employee feedback to drive continuous improvement and address concerns promptly. Carry out post-hire, stay, and exit interviews, as well as regular check-ins and roundtables, to gather insights and implement action plans that address findings.

    + Performance Management- Coach and manage a performance review system that drives accountability and high performance.

    + Compliance & Risk Management- Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements. Provides policy interpretation and ensures accurate and consistent application of all company policies and procedures.

    + Data & Metrics-Driven Decision Making -Analyze HR metrics—turnover, engagement, time-to-fill—to guide HR decisions and demonstrate impact.

    + Allocate Resources Effectively -Ensure HR objectives are met by strategically allocating resources to support operational needs, aligning with overall business goals.

    + HR Administration- Receives and responds to employment-related claims from various governments or public agencies. Maintain employee records according to policy and legal requirements. Supports audit requests.

    Requirements and Skills:

    + Minimum 5 years' Human Resources experience

    + Bilingual - English/Spanish preferred

    + Experience in a manufacturing facility with high volume

    + Proven working experience as HR Manager or other HR Executive role.

    + Knowledge of HR systems and databases.

    + Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills.

    + Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company.

    + In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices.

    + Degree in Human Resources or related field (e.g., Psychology, Business Administration); HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    This position will have direct reports within the department.

    + Promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion in hiring, policy, and workplace culture.

    + Understands and appreciates different perspectives and backgrounds.

    + Uses data and metrics to drive HR decisions.

    + Proficient in HR software and systems (e.g., HRIS, payroll platforms, applicant tracking systems).

    + Dependability – Follow instructions, responds to management direction; Takes responsibility for own actions; Keeps commitments. Completes tasks on time or notify the appropriate person with an alternate plan.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk; sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    The job is performed in a traditional office environment.

    Frequently:

    + Wear personal protective equipment (hair net, smock, and non-slip water resistant footwear

    + Work in cold and wet working environment (approx. 34 degrees) –warm clothing is advised (heavy socks, pants, jacket, head covering, etc.).

    + * Physical hazards of working in and about moving machinery.

    + Must be cognizant of body and limbs so as to not be too close to machinery.

    FOOD SAFETY & FOOD SECURITY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + All people within the company have responsibilities to ensure that threats to the safety and security of our final product are minimized.

    + Compliance with GH Foods’ Good Manufacturing Practices [GMPs]

    + Reporting any unauthorized persons in or about the facility as well as incidents of employee tampering to management.

    + Understanding basic concepts of food borne illness.

    + Comply with all food labeling requirements as determined by specific job within company.

    + Verify and record identity of all visitors into the facility.

    Salary Description

    $105,000.00
