Description

Robert Half's client is a well-established manufacturing company located in San Mateo. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. Responsibilities:

+ Assist with the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

+ Perform accurate and timely journal entries and general ledger reconciliations.

+ Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring proper coding and timely payments/collections.

+ Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial accounts.

+ Support the month-end and year-end close processes.

+ Prepare and analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and potential issues.

+ Assist with tax compliance activities, including preparation of various tax forms and schedules.

+ Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and company policies.

+ Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation.

+ Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information and address accounting-related inquiries.

+ Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.

+ Participate in internal and external audits.

+ Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned to support the finance department.

Requirements

Qualifications:

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

+ 4 years of progressive accounting experience

+ Solid understanding of GAAP and fundamental accounting principles.

+ Proficiency in QuickBooks or NetSuite and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs are a plus).

+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.

+ Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

+ Strong written and verbal communication skills.

+ Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

+ High level of integrity and confidentiality.
