Description
We are looking for an experienced Tax Manager to join our team in Worcester, Massachusetts. This role involves overseeing tax compliance and preparation for trusts and estates, while providing strategic advice to clients on tax planning and wealth transfer strategies. The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering exceptional service, managing staff effectively, and contributing to business development efforts.

Responsibilities:
• Supervise the preparation and filing of federal and state tax returns for trusts and estates, including Forms 1041, 706, and K-1s.
• Conduct research on complex tax issues using available resources and provide actionable insights.
• Manage communications with tax authorities and ensure accurate compliance with regulations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, advisors, and trust administrators to address their tax needs effectively.
• Lead meetings with clients to discuss tax strategies, estate planning, and wealth transfer opportunities.
• Review work completed by less experienced staff and provide constructive feedback to maintain quality standards.
• Mentor and train tax staff to enhance their skills and performance.
• Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies to improve service delivery and profitability.
• Stay informed about changes in tax laws and assess their impact on client strategies.
• Perform and review complex fiduciary accounting tasks, including analyzing trust documents and investments.
Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration; a master’s degree in taxation or accounting is preferred.
• A CPA license, JD, or Enrolled Agent designation is highly desirable.
• At least 5 years of recent experience in public accounting or trust tax.
• Demonstrated ability to manage staff and oversee multiple engagements successfully.
• Strong technical skills in fiduciary accounting and tax research.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and relevant tax software applications.
• In-depth knowledge of fiduciary tax laws and concepts.
