COMPENSATION
Salary Range: Min. $134,183 - Max. $184,013 | Exec/ Hay 1040
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The selected candidate will direct managerial, engineering, supervisory and hourly personnel responsible to provide engineering expertise and services system-wide for maintenance projects & major capital construction projects rehabilitating Transit’s traction power system, third rail operations & circuit breaker houses, operations and maintenance requirements for 216 power substations, 3,500 miles of power cable, 200 Train Control, interlocking, and 57,600 signal components. The incumbent will have direct design review and interface with C&D, Service Delivery, and OSS in developing effective solutions. They will ensure compliance with engineering quality control standards, NYCT policies & procedures, along with City, State, Federal laws and safety standards. They will direct in-house and C&D funded safety projects to ensure that projects remain within budgetary and design parameters. The incumbent must be prepared to react/respond to emergencies and other critical occurrences on a 24/7 basis.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college in Electrical Engineering or a satisfactory equivalent and twelve (12) years’ experience, of which eight (8) must have been in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
All applicants must possess a valid New York State Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
DESIRED SKILLS:
Must have knowledge of engineering inspection techniques, construction design and standards, maintenance methods, materials and vendors for new technology train control signal systems. Experience in using computer aided design and software tools and their interpretation is desirable. Extensive experience in the areas of Power and Signal design and train control systems.
