Mitsubishi Chemical Methacrylates operates as the Americas Division of Mitsubishi Chemicals’ acrylic monomer business, one of ten business domains crossing a diverse portfolio of businesses within the company. Job Purpose

The Sr. Environmental Specialist is responsible for ensuring environmental compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.

Principal Accountabilities

+ Serve as the primary point of contact for the facility with respect to air compliance regulatory and technical issues (Title V, NSR/PSD, NSPS, HON/MON, GHG, MACT, etc.)

+ Serve as the liaison between plant operations and third party LDAR contractor

+ Serve as the liaison between plant operations and stakeholder regulatory agencies (Shelby County Health Department, TDEC, EPA, etc.)

+ Implement and audit compliance with Company and Site EHS standards and policies

+ Work closely with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) team and manufacturing leaders to drive environmental improvement programs, objectives, initiatives, and projects.

+ Assist with,near miss and incident reporting/investigations, root cause analyses, management of change,and procedure review.

+ Develop, schedule, and conduct environmental training programs for new and current employees as well as resident contractors.

+ Conduct periodic audits of air compliance programs to determine effectiveness, and make adjustments as necessary to ensure ongoing compliance with all applicable regulations

+ Maintain required records including environmental metrics and communicate these as necessary to the site population.

+ Coordinate preparation and submittal of routine external environmental reports (Semi-annual Title V reports, annual compliance certification, annual GHG reporting, Tier II/TRI, etc.)

+ Assist with preparation of routine internal environmental reports (Management of Sustainability (MOS), monthly EHS KPI’s, MCG Sustainability Report, etc.)

+ Serve as an advocate for safety compliance in the plant

Knowledge / Skills / Experience

+ Bachelor's degree in Safety/Environmental Science, or related technical discipline and/or 5+ years of experience working in a chemical manufacturing environment.

+ Significant involvement in environmental work processes or in a direct role relating to EHS.

+ Ability to work flexible work hours to accommodate the needs of the manufacturing organization.

+ Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written). Must be able to effectively communicate with people on all levels within the organization.

+ Ability to communicate and enforce environmental standards and requirements.

+ Intermediate analytical and computer skills.

+ Must be well organized, able to prioritize, and follow through in a timely manner.

+ **The salary range for this position is $116,400 - $122,900. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.**
