Director of Enterprise Payments Oversight - Hybrid
The Enterprise Payments Governance and PMO team is seeking a dynamic Director level leader who will play a pivotal role defining and implementing the future of payments governance and oversight for the enterprise. The Enterprise Payments Governance and PMO team sits within the Enterprise Payments organization in the Retail Bank. The team is responsible for the governance and oversight of end-to-end payments strategy, operations, and risk management for all payment types across the enterprise. In this role, you will be at the forefront of payments, developing solutions to remediate some of the biggest payments-related challenges while also building upon existing business-as-usual practices.
In this exciting role, you will work closely with key stakeholders to deliver results that will have a direct impact on the company. You will partner with Senior Leaders and stakeholders across Operations, Risk Management, Audit, and other key areas to shape and deliver a strategy and implement critical initiatives directly tied to current and future priorities of the Enterprise Payments organization. You will work with smart, talented people who will challenge you to excel.
The Role
As a Director at Capital One, you will create strategy and lead a team through high priority projects for the company. You will collaborate with smart and passionate leaders to influence results that have a direct impact on the company’s bottom line. You lead important and exciting projects from day one, working alongside key stakeholders across the company.
Responsibilities
+ Serve as a leader and thought partner, engaging executive and senior leaders, to develop the strategic direction of this function
+ Lead process improvements, create advanced strategies and enhance governance for payments across Capital One
+ Partner with Divisional Accountable Executives and Business Risk Offices to assess the strategy, operations, and risks for specific payment types throughout the payment lifecycle
+ Lead a team to drive results, while creating an inclusive, empowering, and inspiring work environment
+ Demonstrate subject matter expertise in payment operations (with support to develop this expertise if not yet acquired)

+ Exhibit outstanding influencing skills to effectively drive project / program efforts
+ Demonstrate a proven track record of excellent project management, bringing the ability to quickly put structure in place to manage work in a dynamic complex environment
+ Display a passion for coaching and developing a team of associates through their leadership style
+ Have excellent communication and partnership skills which are essential for interacting and communicating with key stakeholders at all levels across the company to manage, inform and influence outcomes
+ A strategic thinker who can effectively influence and execute against that strategy
+ Results-oriented and able to influence across a large group of stakeholders to drive those results
+ Team-focused, with demonstrated strong relationship-building and collaboration skills
+ An exceptional communicator
+ Adaptable and flexible
+ Working knowledge of Risk Management frameworks
**Location:** This role is hybrid, where you will be expected to spend 3 days per week working in office and the remainder of the week working virtually.
Basic Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience
+ At least 5 years of Project Management experience
+ At least 3 years of People Management experience
+ At least 2 years of Risk Management experience
+ At least 3 years of experience using Microsoft Office or Google Suite
Preferred Qualifications
+ At least 6 years of Project Management experience
+ At least 4 years of People Management experience
+ PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification
+ At least 3 years of payments experience
+ At least 5 years of Risk Management experience
+ At least 2 years of operations management experience

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $200,100 - $228,400 for Director, Project Management
Richmond, VA: $181,800 - $207,500 for Director, Project Management
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
