Purpose:
The Head, US In-Market TA/Product Training Women’s Health & Healthcare Systems is a key leader within the Astellas organization who is responsible for strategic planning and execution of product, disease state, clinical acumen, selling skills and business planning for the VEOZAH and Cresemba US In-Market field sales teams within Astellas. This role will collaborate with the brand team members to identify training needs, develop and deliver learning programs and evaluate the effectiveness of training with an emphasis on Field Sales Representatives and Regional Sales Leaders to drive CSP-aligned capabilities.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
+ Leads the US In-Market Women’s Health & Healthcare Systems training team to develop deep clinical and product expertise and leverage this knowledge to deliver training and lead workshops both in-person and virtually.
+ Manage the US In-market training team focused on VEOZAH and Cresemba setting clear Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) aligned to the Brand Strategy while setting the standards for excellence in training content development and delivery.
+ Responsible for the implementation of all learning continuums spanning initial to advanced training through increasing knowledge and skills in various environments, including continuous refinements/updates as needed.
+ Works with team of direct reports to: proactively identify training needs for the Field Sales Organization through needs assessments, implements a continuum of innovative programs from initial to advanced skill levels; completion of ongoing assessments, and continuously improving upon training materials and processes.
+ Partners with the Global TA/Product Training Leads to design and implement new and progressive learning platforms across the Business Units and leverages existing materials through a Train the Trainer system to ensure training needs are being met within new hire training curricula
+ Successfully partners with client teams across the organization including executives, senior leaders, directors, managers and employees to align business needs and goals with developmental strategies to improve performance and business results.
+ Utilizes Adult Learning Principles knowledge and skills to execute effective blended learning solutions aligned with business needs and goals. Executes developmental programs efficiently and effectively, employing sound communication and change management techniques to ensure results.
+ Proactively utilizes innovative development solutions and problem-solving techniques to overcome obstacles, while working collaboratively under pressure, to develop solid programs and solutions.
+ Implements effective measurement systems to evaluate and improve development solutions. Develop, maintain & share reporting analyses on program effectiveness to Senior and Executive leadership.
+ Supports the Astellas Organizational Values of Innovation, Integrity and Impact as well as the Behaviors of Courage, Sense of Urgency, One Astellas, Outcome Focus and Accountability.
+ Build high levels of trust and establish strong relationships with critical influencers and key customers. Act as a Performance Consultant to stakeholders regarding learning and development.
+ Drives collaboration with all departments who influence the assigned training audience, including Human Resources and all cross-functional teams. Acts as a strategic leader with cross-functional partners. Acts as a liaison to various business units.
+ Recruit, assess/evaluate and employ vendors and programs that enhance current curriculum as well as provide state-of-the-art learning solutions using multi-media formats and delivery.
+ Participate as an active leader within the CL&D team by supporting self-development for direct reports, leading the way in developing individuals throughout the team to ensure proper career pathing, promotions and role development. Develop future Astellas leaders through internal CL&D training manager development programs, identifying and promoting high-potential talent in partnership with Sales and Marketing leadership.
+ Remain compliant and adhere to all Astellas policies and procedures
Qualifications Required:
+ Bachelor’s degree.
+ 10+ years pharmaceutical experience with 2+ years in learning and development positions and 2+ years sales managerial experience.
+ Demonstrated pharmaceutical leadership, management planning, organizing and execution skills.
+ Advanced collaboration, communication (oral and written), and administrative management skills.
+ Leadership, Teamwork and Team Building are essential.
+ Innovative, creative and detail oriented.
+ Strategic thinking capacity in developing ideas and business opportunities.
+ Strong business acumen: project management, vendor management, and budget management capabilities.
+ Ability to work well with multiple areas of the organization including Commercial and non-Commercial across all Astellas US functions.
+ Outstanding interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
+ Well-developed presence, professional maturity, judgment, and critical thinking.
+ Strong background in development of experiential training and accelerated learning techniques.
+ Proven examples of Leadership, Team Building and People Development.
+ Up to 30% travel
Preferred:
+ Bachelor’s degree in health sciences or business fields relative to function.
+ Prior experience leading a learning team in a Pharmaceutical or Biotech Organization.
