Registered Nurse (RN) Lactation Consultant

**Work location:** Texas Health Frisco, 12400 North Dallas Parkway, Frisco, Texas, 75033

**Work hours:** Full Time, 40 Hours; 8 hours, 5 days a week with rotating days, alternating weekends

Here’s What You Need

• Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program required

• BSN preferred

• One-year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.

• Lactation Consultant experience highly preferred

• RN – Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required

• BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly

• NRP – Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days required

• IBCLC – Lactation Consultant certification within 2 years required

What You Will Do

Function as expert resource on breastfeeding issues for patients, families, community, staff and physicians

• Serve as clinical expert for lactation issues based on evidence

• Produce documentation that initiates, follow and revise patient’s plan of care

• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to improve care processes and promote continuity of care

• Review patient medications for potential complications associated with breastfeeding

• Assess outpatients for symptoms of jaundice and breastfeeding problems

• Participate in breast pump rental and retail sales within the Breastfeeding Resource Center
