Job Title: Firmware Software Engineer IJob Description

We are seeking a Firmware Software Engineer with 2-4 years of experience to join the Software Engineer - Smart Glasses team remotely in the US, operating within the PST time zone. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about working at the intersection of hardware and software, contributing to Automated Testing/Continuous Integration improvements and dashboard development to monitor firmware health. The successful candidate will be part of the Smart Glasses Core Platform Firmware team, focusing on increasing the reliability of Smart Glasses firmware and enhancing developer velocity through improved efficiency and effectiveness of our automated testing suite.

Responsibilities

+ Monitor stability of automated tests.

+ Develop new automated tests and improve existing tests.

+ Debug flaky tests and root cause issues to determine whether problems are caused by tests or the underlying firmware code.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in C/C++.

+ Deep understanding of testing strategies and test development for embedded devices.

+ Proficiency in debugging embedded firmware code.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Prior experience in defining/executing a test strategy for a consumer embedded device.

+ Experience with CI tooling.

+ Experience with end-to-end testing.

+ Bachelor of Computer Science or Engineering degree preferred.

Work Environment

This position is remote and operates in the PST time zone, working under the guidance of a team lead along with 1-2 other developers. The team is focused on enhancing the reliability of Smart Glasses firmware and increasing developer velocity through improvements in our automated testing suite. Smart Glasses represent a new class of devices with potential to become dominant consumer computing devices, offering an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-quality new devices and experiences.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
