    Job Title: CDL Driver

    Job Description

    The primary purpose of this role is to load, transport, and unload equipment to and from customer and company work sites. This may involve both local and over-the-road (overnight) hauling. You will also be responsible for performing basic maintenance on company vehicles as needed.

    Responsibilities

    + Inspect delivery truck/semi and trailer for defects before, during, and after trips and report any discrepancies.

    + Visually inspect motors and components for loose or missing parts before loading and unloading.

    + Isolate and secure separate components within the same motor to ensure safe delivery.

    + Load and secure all types and sizes of motors, panels, drives, transformers, generators, and electrical equipment using appropriate equipment.

    + Transport new vehicles and specialized shop equipment securely.

    + Ensure compliance with company and DOT guidelines for safe transportation.

    + Handle complex loads and transport overweight and/or over-dimension loads following State and Federal provisions.

    + Drive safely and maneuver loads on roadways and sites.

    + Adjust equipment to prevent damage during transport.

    + Instruct customers and third-party rigging companies on proper loading and unloading techniques.

    + Communicate effectively with customers, third-party companies, and supervision during transportation.

    + Maintain a calm and professional demeanor in stressful situations.

    + Observe all DOT regulations to ensure safe transportation.

    + Assist Field Service employees as needed on customer job sites.

    + Operate all types and sizes of overhead cranes, man lifts, boom trucks, and forklifts.

    + Perform preventative maintenance on company equipment and vehicles.

    + Train new drivers as requested.

    + Provide assistance to various departments as business needs arise.

    + Maintain a clean, neat, and safe work environment.

    + Promote a strong company image and maintain positive working relationships.

    + Provide outstanding customer service at all times.

    + Perform work according to established company policies and procedures.

    Essential Skills

    + One year of tractor-trailer/commercial driving experience with a good driving record or a graduate from an accredited truck driver training school.

    + DOT Class A certified in manual (not automatic).

    + Customer service oriented.

    + Valid CDL Class A license.

    + Ability to pass specified MSHA training.

    + Valid DOT medical card.

    + Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

    + Ability to read, write, and comprehend written and verbal instructions, including road maps and driving directions.

    + Ability to work independently and make decisions within DOT guidelines.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Must be 21 years of age per DOT regulations.

    + Ability to obtain Basic Orientation Plus Training (BOP).

    + Ability to obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC).

    + Knowledge of motors and their components.

    + Ability to place motors in proper position for weight distribution.

    + Ability to work in confined spaces, although seldom required.

    + Overnight travel required approximately 20% of the time.

    Work Environment

     

    The role involves operating various types of equipment, including overhead cranes, man lifts, boom trucks, and forklifts. You will be required to observe all safety procedures and maintain a clean, neat, and safe work environment. The position requires overnight travel approximately 20% of the time, with work both on company and customer sites.

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $43680.00 - $58240.00/yr.
