Northwestern State University College of Nursing and School of Allied Health seeks an applicant for a 12-month full-time faculty position in the Doctor of Nursing Practice, Nurse Anesthesia Program available in Shreveport, LA (or Off-Campus Instructional Site) beginning July 1, 2025.

Minimum Qualifications
Terminal degree Doctorate required or currently enrolled with a defined completion plan. National certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist required. Louisiana license as a Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, and a minimum of two years clinical nurse anesthetist experience required. Two (2) years of nurse educator experience; three (3) or more preferred. Must be able to pass a background check and shall meet the required standards defined by the University.
Job Specification
•Assist in the coordination, delivery, and evaluation of the Nurse Anesthesia curriculum/DNP program curriculum.
•Deliver didactic, clinical, and simulation-based instruction across multiple learning environments, including two off-campus instructional sites and multiple clinical affiliates.
•Employ a variety of instructional methods appropriate to graduate-level anesthesia education and aligned with best practices in adult learning.
•Participate in curriculum design, student evaluation, and program assessment.
•Serve as an academic advisor and professional mentor to students, providing guidance on curriculum requirements, certification preparation, and professional conduct.
•Maintain scheduled office hours and be accessible for student support.
•Engage in research, scholarship, or evidence-based practice relevant to the discipline and institutional mission.
•Maintain clinical competence through active CRNA practice.
•Contribute to the advancement of nurse anesthesia education and the profession through involvement in academic and professional organizations.
•Serve on Nurse Anesthesia Program, College, and University committees.
•Assist with the development, review, and revision of policies, procedures, and curriculum.
•Support ongoing accreditation and quality improvement efforts.
•Work collegially with other faculty, clinical partners, and administrators.
•Collaborate with the DNP Program Director and administrative leadership in planning for faculty workload, coverage, and clinical placement coordination.
Job Duties and Other Information
Reports to: Nurse Anesthesia Program Administrator and indirectly to the Doctor of Nursing Practice Program Director.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Curriculum and Instruction
