Job Description:
The graphic design student assistant within the Division of Student Life Department of Marketing & Strategic Communications is visually minded, a storyteller at heart, and energized by creative challenges and reimagining what’s possible. This position will work alongside the Division’s full time Graphic Designer to create captivating designs that showcase and support the Gator student experience.
Job Description
+ Collaborate, ideate, pitch, and execute on designs for print publications, web graphics, promotional materials, building signage, social media assets, and more.
+ Maintain consistency with University of Florida and Division brand standards throughout all deliverables.
+ Utilize the Division’s design technology stack including iMac workstations, Wacom drawing tablets, Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), and Canva to produce and refine artwork.
+ Prepare and package artwork files for professional printing, ensuring correct color profiles, bleed and file formats.
+ Maintain the organization of the Division’s design database to ensure easy access and version control.
+ Build and maintain professional relationships with clients and co-workers in an agency style work environment with both student and professional staff.
+ Other duties as assigned
Expected Salary:
$13.00 per hour
Required Qualifications:
+ Must be a currently enrolled University of Florida student.

Preferred:
+ Have an interest in people and building positive relationships that make our department and the UF community better.
+ Possess solid graphic design skills, as well as the ability to craft and maintain a consistent voice and tone with designed imagery.
+ Ability to demonstrate critical thinking, an eye for detail and accuracy.
+ An interest in thinking creatively, strategically and collaboratively to aid in educating our community on the experiences and offerings available to enhance the UF experience.
