THE ROLE
The Sales Manager is responsible for securing business opportunities within assigned market segments to drive sales and maximize revenue for the convention center. This position also collaborates closely with the Finance Team to ensures seamless coordination of event billing, payment collection, and client communication while supporting the broader Sales and Marketing team with monthly reports and program management tasks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
+ Conduct facility tours and engage with prospective and current clients to highlight venue offerings.
+ Develop and deliver tailored sales presentations to secure new business and support client retention.
+ Identify prospective clients within assigned market segments and cultivate long-term relationships.
+ Create, negotiate, and execute proposals and leasing contracts, ensuring timely follow-up and client satisfaction.
+ Manage the INSIGHT Program, including report generation, QR code updates, monthly executive reporting, and content maintenance.
+ Collect relevant data and information from various sources to support the objectives of the Monthly Report.
+ Collaborate with team members to ensure the report aligns with organizational standards and incorporates necessary input.
+ Edit and proofread the report to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency, eliminating grammatical and typographical errors.
+ Manage competing deadlines and prioritize tasks to ensure timely and efficient report completion.
+ Participate in weekly department meetings and contribute to team discussions and planning.
+ Provide administrative support to the Sales and Marketing Department as needed.
+ Perform additional duties as assigned to support the overall success of the department and organization.
+ Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience
+ An associate degree from an accredited college or university, or 1-2 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ A bachelor's degree is preferred.
+ A minimum of 2 years of experience in Customer Service, Marketing, Sales, Finance, or Accounting.
+ Preferred experience in the Hospitality Industry or Convention Center.
Skills and Abilities
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Strong interpersonal skills with a client-focused approach.
+ Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
+ Quick adaptability to new software systems (e.g., Venues or comparable event planning software).
+ Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, deadline-driven setting.
+ Comfortable interacting with individuals at all organizational levels, including executives and external clients.
+ Team-oriented with a proactive and solutions-driven mindset.
Computer Skills
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite programs, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.
+ Momentus Elite (VenueOps) or comparable event planning software a plus.
