    The Position

    Social Workers are licensed professionals who provide case management services to children, families, vulnerable adults with intellectual, developmental, physical disabilities, serious mental illness, and older adults (collectively referred to as "vulnerable adults") and other individuals within local communities and institutions.

     

    The Nevada DIVISION OF CHILD & FAMILY SERVICES (DCFS) is recruiting for a Social Worker 2 (SW2) for the Foster Care Recruiting position. This position will be an in-person position in one of the following Child Welfare offices: Carson City, Elko, Ely, Fallon, Fernley, Pahrump, Winnemucca or Yerington. The Foster Care Recruiter will participate in and organize recruiting events, marketing and use of various multimedia to promote foster care throughout the rural region. The Foster Care Recruiter will act as liaison to both coworkers and foster care applicants in terms of the licensing, orientation and training process. They monitor and document pending applicant information through Binti, complete the inquiry process, answer licensing questions, and ensure that applicants are registered for the orientation and subsequent pre-service training. The Foster Care Recruiter must be conscientious about attending to details on documents being completed, including preparing purchase orders and necessary bids for recruitment items and other products the Recruiter may need to incorporate into their work as well as ensuring vendors are paid in a timely manner. SW2 Foster Care Recruiter has a thorough understanding of completing work within assigned timeframes including, but not limited to, calling potential inquiries back within a timely manner, answering licensing questions, and initiating a review of the Child Abuse and Neglect Registry Screening for Nevada for all adults living in the home, prior to orientation and training.     To Qualify:

    In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

    Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)

     

    Licensure or provisional licensure as a Social Worker, Clinical Social Worker, Independent Social Worker, or Associate in Social Work and one year of professional experience providing case management in a social work setting equivalent to a Social Worker I in Nevada State service; OR one year of experience as a Social Worker I in Nevada State service.

    Special Requirements

    Working evenings, weekends, and/or holidays is required by the Division of Child and Family Services.

     

    A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.

    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.

     

    Licensure or provisional licensure by the State of Nevada Board of Examiners for Social Workers as a Social Worker, Clinical Social Worker, Independent Social Worker, or Associate in Social Work is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of employment.
