    Overview

     

    Be part of the nation’s only repository for the disposal of nuclear waste known as Transuranic (TRU) waste.

     

    Salado Isolation Mining Contractors, LLC (SIMCO), managing and operating contractor of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as a **_Administrative Assistant_** and join our team located in Carlsbad, New Mexico.

    Responsibilities

    The successful candidates will support the Quality Assurance organization. They will perform routine administrative duties including, but not limited to: assisting in the development and publishing of departmental correspondence/documents, proofing and developing internal and external presentations, serving as the departmental Training Coordinator, making travel arrangements, scheduling meetings, processing expense authorizations and reimbursements, serve as the Records Coordinator for the organization, and all other duties as assigned. Responsible for coordinating Required Reading Program and the tracking of Timely Orders. The position requires ability to interact professionally with multiple levels of management and employees. Must exercise good judgement, discretion, and professionalism in all matters.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Associate’s degree with two (2) years of relevant experience, or

    • High School Diploma or Equivalency with four (4) years of relevant experience is required.

    • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite is mandatory.

     

    _Must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information._

    Preferred Requirements

    • Records experience.

    • Previous WIPP experience a plus.

    Non-exempt grade level(s) 24-26. Minimum salary $53,509 per year of a larger salary range --the specific salary offered to a candidate will be influenced by a variety of factors, particularly the candidate’s relevant experience and education.
