Gaco Enverge is the coatings, adhesives & sealants, and insulation division of Holcim Building Envelope offering a comprehensive range of solutions for a variety of industries from construction to marine, aerospace, industrial containment, and wind energy. Our brands with a proven history of success include ERSystems®, Permathane®, Tacky Tape®, STA’-PUT®, Pacific Polymers®, Acryl-R®, Miracle®, Elastek®, American Safety Technologies®, PolySpec Thiokol®, Enverge, and Gaco®
The product development manager is responsible for managing group resources, overseeing the development of new products from concept to commercial product. They work closely with other departments, including marketing, sales, operations, procurement, EH&S, finance, etc to ensure the development pipeline meets customer needs and Gaco Enverge business objectives.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
• Primarily manage and direct a group of R&D Chemists / Engineers (6-7) that develop new and innovative products across all Gaco Enverge locations including Waukesha WI, Rockland MA, Houston TX, Garden Grove CA, Tucson AZ, Spring TX, and Norcross GA.
• Understand applicable market needs and trends to service all of the company’s diverse brands and products.
• In conjunction with sales and marketing, create proposals for new product development projects that fill portfolio gaps and meet market needs as well as those that carve innovative new market paths. When approved by ACS leadership, assign to the appropriate R&D Chemist / Engineer and oversee the progress of the project to ensure on-schedule delivery of the new product.
• Provide project updates and status as needed to Gaco Enverge leadership.
• Support other R&D teammates as needed as well as provide technical support to other Gaco Enverge departments and customers as needed.
• Performs duties in support of Gaco Enverge division strategic initiatives and Holcim Building Envelope enterprise strategy.
• Develops material supplier as well as industry technical & commercial relationships to optimize existing and new products helping the organization to protect existing business and capture new business.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
• Must be able to effectively and efficiently manage and maintain a multi-location group while creating a strong culture of teamwork and company success while driving individual responsibility and accountability.
• Demonstrates a general understanding of Holcim Building Envelope business philosophies and strategies.
• Strong Computer skills with Google and Microsoft tools.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational and analytical skills.
• Ability to effectively multitask and drive assignments to completion.
• Extensive and broad working knowledge of coatings, adhesives & sealants, and spray foam from both an application and technical perspective.
• Strong work ethic with high level of trustworthiness and teamwork. Must be able to produce individual and team results.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Requires B.S. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Polymer Science. Advanced degree i.e. M.S., Ph.D., MBA is a plus.

• Requires B.S. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science or a related field
• Proven ability to work effectively in a focused Product Management culture
• Knowledge of urethane chemistry is a plus.
• Provide technical support such as trials, wet analyses, physical testing, sampling and training to internal and external stakeholders with existing or new products
• Possess a working knowledge of lab equipment (viscometer, titrators, UTM, etc.) and PU spray/pour equipment to evaluate formulations, etc. May have support from lab technicians or field technical service.
• Compiles data and supports preparation of technical tools (application guidelines, technical data sheets, safety data sheets, certification submissions, etc.)
• Responsible for scale up and on-going manufacturing of assigned products (manufacturing procedures, QA/QC procedures, round robins, QC approvals, batch adjustments, raw material offset approvals, etc.)
• Organize, investigate, resolve and document possible product concerns in a timely fashion (root cause analysis) and implement corrective actions to maintain and/or re-establish product performance (internal complaint management)
• Anticipates technical issues and applies insight and creativity to pro-actively address
• Collaborates cross functionally, fosters teamwork through cooperation with Sales, Procurement, Codes and Operations to achieve revenue and profitability objectives.
