This role in summary
Whirlpool is currently seeking a strong strategic thinker and highly motivated candidate for an Analyst - Manufacturing Strategy Network Transformation to join our internal North American Region (NAR) Manufacturing team. This role can be located in any Whirlpool manufacturing facility within North America or at our Riverview Campus in Benton Harbor, MI.
In this job, you will work cross-functionally to develop, analyze, prioritize, and advance vertical integration (insourcing) opportunities within Whirlpool. This role is focused on making large structural cost improvements in our manufacturing network to improve Whirlpool’s overall competitiveness.
The successful candidate will create value by developing scenarios for vertical integration that lead to approved business cases. This role involves a modest amount of travel to other Whirlpool facilities.
Your responsibilities will include
+ Contribute to strategy development for (14) NAR Manufacturing facilities in United States and Mexico
+ Analyze scenarios to identify high potential opportunities to vertically integrate (insource) steel stampings, injection moldings, and purchased subassemblies.
+ Generate vertical integration opportunities for existing NAR products to drive cost reduction (P4G)
+ Generate vertical integration opportunities for new products during Whirlpool Product Development (WPD) cycle (Pre-G0 through M4) to enable product cost leadership.
+ Collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners in evaluating scenarios and developing business cases (Global Product Organization, Global Strategic Sourcing, Global Advanced Manufacturing Engineering, Process Transformation, etc)
+ Demonstrate project management skills and bandwidth to develop multiple scenarios and business cases in a timely manner.
+ Present key recommendations to leadership
+ Travel approximately 10% (air or auto)
Minimum requirements
+ Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
+ 2+ years of experience as an Engineer or Engineering Technician
Preferred skills and experiences
+ Background in product or process engineering
+ Experience in stamping, injection molding, or purchased subassemblies
+ Experience with plant utilization and/or capacity planning
+ Strong working knowledge of WPD, particularly pre-G0-G2
+ Familiar with SAP, Windchill
+ Experience with scenario modeling in Cosmic Frog
+ Completion of OPEX training, certification
+ Current PMP certification
+ Proficient in Google tools and Microsoft Excel
+ Ability to manage project timelines within SmartSheets
+ Detail-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing/office environment
+ Solid verbal and written communication skills for a variety of audiences
+ Strong organizational skills and dedication to completing projects in a timely manner
+ Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work
+ Demonstrated ability to think strategically, critically, and logically
