Robert Half is seeking a CAD Lead to support a consulting engineering organization based in Seattle, Washington. This role involves supporting a high-volume workload of CAD drafting projects in the ACE (Architecture, Construction, Engineering) industry and collaborating closely with engineers and technical staff. The position is onsite, and is a 3-month contract opportunity with potential to convert to a full-time role.

Job Details:

Schedule: Monday–Friday, standard business hours

Duration: 3-month contract/ contract to Hire.

Job Responsibilities:

+ Respond to ad hoc drafting and design projects and support through assessments.

+ Manage shifting priorities in a high-volume environment with strong organization and time management.

+ Collaborate closely with another CAD professional and cross-functional engineering teams.

+ Communicate regularly with technical staff and maintain polished, professional interactions.

+ Contribute to creative problem solving and continuous improvement.

+ Potential to manage one CAD Drafter upon conversion, with opportunity to lead a 3-person team in the future.

Requirements

Job Requirements:

+ 7+ years of CAD drafting/design experience

+ Background in the ACE (Architecture, Construction, Engineering) industry

+ Proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD

+ Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D dynamic design features (surfaces, alignments, profiles, corridors, etc.)

+ Familiarity with National and A/E/C CAD standards

+ Demonstrated leadership or team oversight experience

+ Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills

Nice to Have:

+ Experience in geotechnical or civil engineering

+ Familiarity with geotechnical software (e.g., gINT, BoreDM, Rocscience, GeoStudio)

+ GIS platform experience (e.g., ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro)

+ Python programming experience related to CAD, GIS, or databases

+ Understanding of subsurface exploration/testing procedures

+ Familiarity with construction documentation and permitting

+ Experience with Bentley OpenRoads Designer (ORD)

+ Knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM)
