    Job Description:

    Th e positio n of Junior Paralegal provide s legal and administrative suppor t fo r th e Office of General Counsel (OGC), drafts form agreements and responds to a variety of document requests . The responsibilities include managing and maintaining file systems, drafting correspondence and reports, scheduling meetings, and responding to information requests. Th e Junior Paralegal wil l also gai n sufficien t understandin g o f th e wor k an d operation s o f th e OGC t o respon d t o inquiries an d/or determine the appropriat e attorney to defer more complex issues.

    Major Responsibilities:

    Legal Support - Conduct legal research and analyze statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other legal sources; provide written analysis to attorneys. Draft or review legal documents including contracts and legal briefs. Organize and maintain case files, including documents, evidence and correspondence. Receive, track and respond to information requests sent to the OGC; a ssist on litigation matters, including responding to discovery requests. Assist with mass document production that involves analyzing, cataloging, and copying correspondence, policies, and other exhibit items. Meet with attorneys and other professionals to discuss assigned cases or projects. Act as a liaison among all parties for scheduling and sharing information. Provide project support and perform other related duties as assigned.

     

    Administrative Support - Coordinate , organize, and execute administrative tasks. Upload appropriat e document s t o th e office data management system . Maintain filing system, including scanning, closing and shredding of paper files. Receive , review , and file all incomin g correspondenc e. Proof, draft, and finalize various correspondence, legal documents, and reports. Organize necessary correspondence responses or filings (to senior administrators, outside counsel, third parties, courts and administrative agencies), scheduling witness interviews, copying and distributing document s a s necessary format and proof documents; process documents fo r mailing . Manage and maintain schedules, calendars, and appointments of attorneys in OGC . Triage incoming calls and emails to OGC to the appropriate staff member. Assis t the Executive Assistant wit h th e archivin g and storag e o f offic e files . Provide other administrative duties as otherwise required or needed.

     

    Organize electronic files, repare initial drafts of form agreements, draft reports and assist as needed within the office of General Counsel (OGC) - Open and close electronic files for contract review/drafting, real estate matters, litigation matters/lawsuits and administrative complaints. Ensur e document s ar e i n th e appropriat e file s an d file s ar e file d/stored electronically i n th e correc t location. Draft and maintain reports for OGC.

    Education and Experience:

    + Bachelor’s degree preferred, Associate’s degree required

    + Paralegal Certificate

    + 2 -3 year s o f relate d experience, or an equivalent combination of skills, education, and experience
