    Radiology Manager - Norfolk, Virginia

    Job Description

    The Radiology Manager performs and assists with MRI examinations and procedures under the direction of a Radiologist to produce exams used in medical diagnosis. This role involves functioning as the technical subject-matter expert for MRI and acting as the organization's MRI Safety Officer. The position demands adherence to established policies, procedures, and regulations to promote patient safety and ensure a safe working environment in MRI. The Radiology Manager supports inpatient, Emergency Department, and outpatient imaging with the ability to perform specialty imaging procedures, working collaboratively with Sedation and Anesthesia departments to facilitate timely examinations.

    Responsibilities

    + Evaluate images for technical quality and address deficiencies.

    + Orient and train department personnel and new employees related to job roles and proper procedures.

    + Promote education and growth opportunities for staff.

    + Attract, motivate, and mentor talent to achieve organizational goals.

    + Serve as a resource to staff regarding skill demonstration and promotion of knowledge.

    + Provide and promote a friendly work environment while communicating effectively with all personnel and departments.

    + Assure customer satisfaction with services.

    + Coordinate and communicate equipment service and preventative maintenance schedule.

    + Function as project manager on new or revised equipment project activities.

    + Seek guidance from management for unusual or unanticipated circumstances.

    + Support successful onboarding and training of new modality team members.

    + Participate in the evaluation, development, and implementation of business operations and workflows.

    + Work collaboratively with the department director to promote effective delivery of patient-focused care.

    + Assist with developing and maintaining designated budgets and participate in long-range planning and capital equipment planning.

    + Maintain American College of Radiology accreditation for MRI, NM, and PET modalities.

    + Ensure all regulatory, accreditation, and education requirements are met and maintained.

    Essential Skills

    + Five or more years of experience as a registered MRI Technologist. Required!

    + Two or more years of supervisory experience in an inpatient and/or outpatient healthcare setting. Required!

    + Completion of all education, licenses, training, and certifications at time of hire.

    + Continuous re-certification and maintenance of state licensure, certifications, and training.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience in implementing new technology and equipment.

    + Cardiac MRI experience is a plus.

    + Experience coaching staff

    Work Environment

    The Radiology Manager will primarily be housed at the main hospital but will be required to travel to other locations as needed. The work environment promotes a culture of MRI safety, ensuring a secure and efficient setting for both staff and patients.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $148000.00/yr.

     

    Relocation offered, healthcare for pediatrics is 100% covered
